🍂 Heading to Fort Walsh this September? Plan ahead!

There’s something pretty special about visiting Fort Walsh National Historic Site in the fall. The crowds are a little quieter, the hills are starting to take on their autumn colours, and the prairie air has that unmistakable September crispness. 🍁

But before you point the car toward the hills, make sure you **check our hours of operation** and plan your visit accordingly. We’d hate for you to make the trip only to discover you’ve arrived after the gates have closed. 👀

🎨See Fort Walsh through an artistic lens 🎨
There are a few more art classes to catch before the end of the year at Fort Walsh!
This class blends history, ecology, and art. Explore the deep history and natural beauty of the area while creating art journals, learning drawing techniques, and reflecting on the generations - and millennia - that have shaped this land.
We’ll cap off the experience with some peaceful watercolor studies!

Cows, horses, pheasants, elk – you name it, we’ve seen it on the roads to ! Sometimes these animals are a bit sassy and refuse to move, so slow down and give them plenty of space while driving.
