📚 Bring Indigenous cultural learning to your classroom!

Did you know Wanuskewin can bring our educational programming directly to your school?

Our outreach programs offer students an opportunity to learn about the cultures, traditions and knowledge of the Northern Plains Indigenous Peoples through engaging, in-person experiences led by Wanuskewin guides.

Whether you're planning a classroom visit, a school-wide learning opportunity or a special community event, we can help bring meaningful cultural learning to you.

With more than 6,400 years of history connected to this land, there is so much to learn and share.

🍂 Teachers and educators: Explore our outreach options in this post and contact our team to inquire about booking a session for your students!

✨ Opening this weekend at Wanuskewin!

Discover The Old Ways Were Never Old Ways, a community exhibition exploring the connection between the past and present through Indigenous artistic expression, creativity, and knowledge passed down by the Ancestors.

Created in partnership with Professor Colleen Charles and her students from First Nations University of Canada, and curated by Marcel Robitaille, this exhibition is a celebration of living knowledge that continues to evolve, inspire, and connect generations.

📍 Visit us in the Greg Yuel Gallery at Wanuskewin starting October 24.

Come experience the work and discover how the past continues to shape the present. We can’t wait to welcome you!

The Circle in Action: Learning on the Land 🍂

Autumn is a special time at Wanuskewin, as the prairie prepares for winter and school groups return to learn, explore and connect with the land.

Through The Circle, our partners help make these experiences possible for more students by supporting educational programming and transportation, helping remove barriers to land-based learning.

Recently, Mainstay Engineers sponsored both educational programming and bus transportation for Queen Elizabeth II School’s field trip to Wanuskewin. Thanks to their generosity, students had the opportunity to explore the cultures and histories of Northern Plains Indigenous Peoples through hands-on, land-based learning.

We’re grateful to Mainstay Engineers for helping create meaningful learning opportunities and ensuring more young people can experience all that Wanuskewin has to offer.

That’s the power of The Circle: coming together to make a lasting difference in our community. ❤️
