We are a non-profit organization that enables older adults (55+), seniors and physically challenged individuals to reside independently in their own homes by providing low fee or free services. Saskatoon Services for Seniors is a community based, not for profit organization established in 1988 that supports older adults (55+), seniors and physically challenged individuals’ aging-in-place in their

own homes, in their own communities, for as long as possible, and with dignity. Our services support all older adults, seniors and physically challenged individuals’ by offering services that include:

- housekeeping -
- yard work -
- snow shoveling -
- Grocery Delivery -
- In home tax preparation -
- other specialized services -

Only 10% of our support comes from the government. We do not receive federal or provincial government or health region funding. While we charge sliding-scale fees (most times), we use all our revenues to subsidize clients who are unable to afford our services.

Saskatoon Services for Seniors is looking for proficient and conscientious Housekeepers to join our team and participate in our mission of providing home support services to older adults (55+), seniors and physically and mentally challenged individuals who want to remain in their own homes.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

Vacuuming rugs and furniture
Sweeping and washing floors
Dusting and general tidying
Cleaning stove and/or fridge
Cleaning cupboards and closets
Cleaning the bathroom: tub, sink, toilet and bath aids
Preparing light meals
Companionship
Requirements of candidates are:

Ability to treat and care for seniors and their property with dignity and respect
Ability to communicate with clients in a friendly and congenial manner
Ability to speak and write English at an average to high adult level
Ability to lift, push or pull 20 pounds
Ability to bend, twist, stoop, kneel and reach
Complete a criminal background check and provide 3 professional references
Must possess a valid driver’s license. Having a reliable vehicle is required.
Being punctual, reliable and honest
We provide a work environment which has:

Part-Time/Casual shifts, which are available between 9AM – 6PM weekdays. NO WEEKENDS OR STAT HOLIDAYS for ideal work/life balance! Shifts range from a minimum of 3 to 8 hours per day, and you must have open availability during operating hours. We assign consistent days and hours each week to provide continuous care to the clients.
Competitive Pay – starting wage is $13.00/hr plus travel time between clients.
Saskatoon Services for Seniors is a community-based, not for profit organization established in 1988. We support older adults, seniors and physically and mentally challenged individuals’ aging-in-place, by providing affordable services like housekeeping, yard work and other specialized services that correspond to the changing needs of our aging population. Jobs expected to be able to do - Watering flower pots, pruning, fertilizing, eaves troughs, outside windows washing, raking leaves and lawn care.
Shovel walkways and driveways in residential areas
Able to safely operate a Snow blower, lawn mower and other yard equipment
Must be on time
Able to work 5-8 hours per day, Monday to Friday possibility of some weekend work
Must have car or truck (truck preferred) with valid drivers licence
Must be able to get to client with in 24 hours of appointment.
Must be able to handle client list and make appointments with them to come to do job
