2293 The North Saskatchewan Regiment Army Cadet Corps This is an unofficial page that is not intended to represent in any way the policies or procedures of either the DND, the CAF, or the Cadet Leagues of Canada.

This is not a CAF page. This site is maintained by the Corps Local Support Committee. 2293 The North Saskatchewan Army Cadet Corps has built Saskatoon's largest and most active youth program. We pride ourselves on being Saskatoon's best organization for young adults, providing a fun, meaningful, and challenging program to every member involved with the Corps, at absolutely no cost to our

members. At the age of 12 or 13, a first-year cadet can expect to participate in challenging field training, orienteering, biathlon, marksmanship, parade drill, canoeing, military band, and first aid. At the age of 13 and 14, upper year cadets are given leadership opportunities which allow them to help make the Corps function and help to develop first-year cadets. After their second year in the program, cadets can apply for summer training opportunities at various locations or virtual training as well. At ages 15 and older, senior cadets are given advanced leadership opportunities and may be called upon to hold delegated authority over Platoons (20 - 30 cadets), Companies (40 - 90 cadets), or the entire Battalion (150 cadets). At the age of 16, cadets can be selected for advanced training or apply to staff the camps for younger cadets. In past years, cadets from 2293 Army Cadet Corps have gone to Sweden, the United States, England, and Wales, and one member has completed the Canadian Forces Basic Parachutist Course. Adult members work with senior cadets to make the program function and provide overall direction and activity. Most adults working choose to enroll in the Canadian Forces as members of the Cadet Instructors Cadre, a branch of the Canadian Forces responsible for the supervision and administration of the cadet program. Members who enroll work toward a Canadian Forces commission - the legal document that authorizes officers at or above the rank of Second Lieutenant in Canada's Armed Forces to exercise command responsibility. Members who choose not to enroll may still work as civilian volunteers. Before working directly with cadets, all adults must complete extensive background checks and suitability screening. We are fun, friendly, fair, and will give you experiences you will never forget. If cadets sounds like it might be for you, or someone you know, you won't lose anything but an hour of your time by coming down on a Monday night to see what our program is all about!

This is why we have cadets participating in the Decoration Day parade tomorrow. The event is open to the public.
Woodlawn Cemetery at the Cairn, starts at 2pm.
Cadets are to be there at 1:15.

We Will Remember Them.

On June 6, 1944, more than 14,000 Canadians landed on the beaches of Normandy. The Allied D-Day invasion was one of the most pivotal moments of the Second World War.

Facing heavy enemy fire and impossible conditions, Canadian soldiers fought with extraordinary courage to help liberate Europe from German occupation. More than 350 Canadians lost their lives that day, and hundreds more were wounded.

Today, we remember the bravery and sacrifice of all those who served on D-Day and throughout the Battle of Normandy. Their courage changed the course of history.

Lest we forget.

We would like to send out this important message to all the Moms in our Corps. You do a lot for your family, and getting your cadets to and from training nights and marksmanship, and weekend activities is another one of those things you do.

We would also like to send this message out to the staff who are Moms. You dedicate a lot of time away from your families, so that you can be here supporting our Corps family as leaders, mentors and a source of support!

We appreciate each and every one of you, and hope you were spoiled on this day dedicated to you!
