📣 ATTENTION SASKATCHEWAN INDIGENOUS HOCKEY ATHLETES! 🏒💚💛

Team Saskatchewan is continuing the road to the 2027 National Aboriginal Hockey Championships (NAHC) in Membertou, NS! We’re hosting our SECOND ID CAMP to identify athletes for our Male and Female U18 teams. 🔥

📍 Second ID Camp
📅 December 21 & 22, 2026
📌 Martensville Recreation Centre – Martensville, SK

💰 Registration Fee: $100/athlete — CASH ONLY
⏰ Registration opens at 8:30 AM on December 21

👧 Female U18 Team | Athletes born 2009–2013
👦 Male U18 Team | Athletes born 2009–2013

✅ Important: Athletes must attend at least ONE ID camp to be eligible for the final roster.

🔎 What you’ll need:
• Valid proof of Aboriginal ancestry (Treaty/Status Card, Métis Card, etc.)
• Non-Status athletes must provide ancestry documentation, including long-form birth certificate and parent card(s), along with photo ID
• Player waiver signed by the athlete and parent/guardian — must be completed at the ID camp

🏒 Female Sessions
December 21 & 22:
• 9:45 AM – 11:00 AM
• 12:45 PM – 2:00 PM

🏒 Male Sessions
December 21 & 22:
• 11:15 AM – 12:30 PM
• 2:15 PM – 3:30 PM

Team Saskatchewan is gearing up for the 2027 National Aboriginal Hockey Championships (NAHC) in Membertou, NS - and we’re hosting ID Camps to identify athletes for our male and female teams!

📍 First ID Camp
August 15 & 16, 2026
Martensville, SK – Martensville Recreation Centre

💰 Registration: $100/athlete (Cash only)
✅ Must attend at least ONE ID camp to be eligible for the final roster

🔎 Eligibility:
• Female & Male athletes born 2009–2013
• Must provide valid proof of Aboriginal ancestry
• Player waiver signed by athlete & parent/guardian at camp check-in

🗓️ Second ID Camp: December 2026

Athletes selected after the second camp will represent Saskatchewan at the 2027 NAHC!

Coaches Application deadline has been extended to July 9th @ 5:00pm

We are now accepting applications for Team Saskatchewan’s Coaching Staff for the 2027 National Aboriginal Hockey Championships (NAHC), which will be hosted in Membertou, NS from May 3–8, 2027.

We are seeking dedicated and experienced individuals for the following volunteer positions:
Female Team: Head Coach, 2 Assistant Coaches,
Trainer/Therapist, Team Mentor (19–24 years of age)
Male Team: Head Coach, 2 Assistant Coaches,
Trainer/Therapist, Team Mentor (19–24 years of age)

Requirements:
- Head Coach must be Development 1 Certified
- Head Coach must be 25 years of age or older
- Assistant Coaches must be Development 1 Trained
- Coaches must have 3 years experience and actively coaching
- All staff must have Respect In Sport for Activity Leaders Course
- All staff must be certified in the Aboriginal Coaches Module (ACM)
- At least 1 staff must have Hockey Canada Safety Program certification
- All staff must be of Indigenous Ancestry (First Nations, Metis or Inuit)
- Trainers must have current Emergency First Aid Certification and CPR Certification
- All staff must have a current Criminal Record Check or CPIC and a Vulnerable Sector Search with application
- All staff must hold permanent residency in Saskatchewan

Important Notes:
All selected coaches must be in attendance at ID Camps.
Coaches will also be required to participate in practices once team is finalized.

After hard work, determination, and incredible teamwork, the boys brought home the Bronze Medal at the National Aboriginal Hockey Championships!

Every game showed the grit, heart, and commitment this team carried throughout the tournament.

Congratulations to the players, coaches, families, and supporters who helped make this achievement possible. Saskatchewan is proud of you! 💚💛

Team Sask Males battled hard in semifinal action today but came up short against Manitoba at the National Aboriginal Hockey Championships.

One more opportunity tomorrow as the boys hit the ice for the Bronze Medal Game at 10:00am. Let’s pack the stands and show our support for Team Sask!
