We are now accepting applications for Team Saskatchewan’s Coaching Staff for the 2027 National Aboriginal Hockey Championships (NAHC), which will be hosted in Membertou, NS from May 3–8, 2027.
We are seeking dedicated and experienced individuals for the following volunteer positions:
Female Team: Head Coach, 2 Assistant Coaches,
Trainer/Therapist, Team Mentor (19–24 years of age)
Male Team: Head Coach, 2 Assistant Coaches,
Trainer/Therapist, Team Mentor (19–24 years of age)
Requirements:
- Head Coach must be Development 1 Certified
- Head Coach must be 25 years of age or older
- Assistant Coaches must be Development 1 Trained
- Coaches must have 3 years experience and actively coaching
- All staff must have Respect In Sport for Activity Leaders Course
- All staff must be certified in the Aboriginal Coaches Module (ACM)
- At least 1 staff must have Hockey Canada Safety Program certification
- All staff must be of Indigenous Ancestry (First Nations, Metis or Inuit)
- Trainers must have current Emergency First Aid Certification and CPR Certification
- All staff must have a current Criminal Record Check or CPIC and a Vulnerable Sector Search with application
- All staff must hold permanent residency in Saskatchewan
Important Notes:
All selected coaches must be in attendance at ID Camps.
Coaches will also be required to participate in practices once team is finalized.
