Quint Development Corporation

Quint Development Corporation Nonprofit focused on strengthening the economic & social wellbeing of Saskatoon's core communities. Located on Treaty 6 Territory & the Homeland of the Métis📍

Quint Development Corporation exists to strengthen the economic and social well being of Saskatoon's five core neighbourhoods through a community based economic development approach. Quint, meaning five in Latin, represents the communities of Caswell Hill, King George, Pleasant Hill, Riversdale and Westmount. In 1995, community representatives from the five neighborhoods formed a CED organization

through which we work to improve our lives, our neighborhoods and ourselves. Community residents form at least three quarters of Quint's board of Directors, including appointed representatives from the five community associations. The board develops Quint's policies and directions. Our Mission
To strengthen the economic and social well being of Saskatoon's five core neighbourhoods through a community based development approach. Our Development Philosophy
We are guided by a holistic approach that integrates economic, social, ecological and cultural development with a goal to revitalize and reclaim communities. This approach concentrates on the development of community organizations that enable citizens to pool their resources and talents to create community ownership , jobs, training and income for community members. Our Vision
We see citizens who are caring and self reliant in communities that are safe and stable, where all citizens can participate. We see a vital local economy that uses local resources, sustains jobs, business and community enterprises, with neighbourhoods that are prosperous, beautiful and environmentally sustainable. We see the community initiating and supporting cultural, recreational, educational and social-economic opportunities for us all.

As temperatures rise in Saskatoon, we are seeing an increasing need for drinking water in our community.

If you can help, we are gratefully accepting donations of cases of water bottles. Please drop donations off at the front desk of Station 20 West.

Meet Julia who is joining Quinn at our front desk! She is a recent graduate from the University of Saskatchewan’s Psychology program and she is ready to make a meaningful impact on her community.

“I have a personal passion for this work because I want to give back to my city. My favourite quote is ‘If you want a village, you have to be a villager’ meaning, in order to have community we have to also BE community for others and show up even when we may be scared or tired.“

Julia loves cats, crafting, and trying new things. Her positive energy is already such a wonderful addition to our office. Please help us welcome Julia to our Quint community!

We offer trainings to all staff and we keep kits in our offices, residential buildings, and our active worksites. April was a difficult month in the community where our staff witnessed and responded to many more overdoses than we’re used to. Prairie Harm Reduction is gone but the people they served are still here and they need your support.

Vice Chair of our board, Mary Ellen Gibson, is hosting another free drop-in naloxone training with Station 20 West Community Enterprise Centre on June 10th from 2pm to 4pm. Stop by Station 20 for just 15 minutes and get trained to save a life.

You can find more naloxone training and pick up locations here: https://www.saskatchewan.ca/residents/health/accessing-health-care-services/mental-health-and-addictions-support-services/alcohol-and-drug-support/opioids/take-home-naloxone-program-sites
