Today, we had the pleasure of welcoming some JK/SK children for a special Fire Station tour as part of their Career Day!

The students had the opportunity to learn about fire safety, explore the fire trucks, see some of the equipment firefighters use, and ask lots of great questions.

A few of them even showed up in their own firefighting gear!

A big thank you to the students and teachers for visiting us. We loved having you at the station!

Shortly after 2:30 PM, Sarnia Fire Rescue responded to the 100 block of Exmouth Street for a reported medical emergency. Upon arrival, crews learned the patient was actually a crew member aboard an incoming freighter who required assistance once the vessel docked.

The first arriving apparatus requested Tower 2 to attend in the event crews needed to package and remove the patient from the ship’s deck. However, once the freighter docked, the patient was able to disembark with assistance from fellow crew members, to where Sarnia Fire and Lambton EMS personnel were standing by.

Following a brief assessment on scene, the patient was transported to Bluewater Health for further evaluation.
