Please consider consider taking part in the Salt Spring Island Community Health Needs Assessment for the Salt Spring Health Advancement Network.

Salt Spring Island Public Library is sharing this important survey from Salt Spring Health Advancement Network.

Is health important to you? Do you live on Salt Spring Island?
We need your voice!!
The last community health needs assessment for Salt Spring Island was completed in 2019. Since then, things have changed a lot. Salt Spring Island is a unique community with unique needs. Strong healthy public policy must be based on accurate and current data, so help us get that data!

Please use the QR code on the image or follow the link in the comments.

To honour your time you can opt in at the end of the survey to a draw for a local gift card of your choice. There will be five offered, in the amounts of $300 (2), $200 (2), and $100 (1).

All data that we collect will be reported back to the community in the fall of 2026. To do this work the Salt Spring Health Advancement Network is supported by the CRD and PlanH, BC Healthy Communities fund.

Mandatory water restrictions are currently in place for Electoral Areas, including Salt Spring Island and the Southern Gulf Islands.
Small drinking water systems are especially vulnerable during dry conditions. Many local sources remain at low levels. Each system has specific water use restrictions in place.
Stay up to date on current water conservation levels for CRD drinking water systems:

Thank you for doing your part to conserve water!

, on Salt Spring Island, emergency preparedness starts at the community level?

Preparedness & Organizing for Disasters, Pods, are small groups of neighbours that connect before emergencies happen, so they’re ready to support each another when one occurs🪴

Pod program members share contact lists, identify emergency meeting places and check in on neighbours who may need extra support ✔️

When roads are blocked, power is out, or help is delayed, community members make sure no one is left on their own 💙

This is “In it together” in action 👈
