Benefit to help single mothers in Thailand
A Thai themed benefit dinner was held at the Salt Spring Sailing Club. The event was sold out within days of being announced. Guests were treated to a memorable meal, exciting entertainment and a silent auction for exotic items including a 12 place set of bronze flatware reputed to have been used in the filming of "The King and I".
The benefit was held in support of the SSI Rotary Club's initiative to improve the lives of poor families in Thailand. More on that in a our next post.

A bit late posting this, but better late than never! It was an incredibly well attended Remembrance Day Parade on Monday to commemorate our fallen, not just in the First World War, but all the wars and engagements since. Many wreaths were laid including one by Elizabeth May and our President Chris Cheeseman. It was a heartwarming and strangely life affirming event.
