Good afternoon Salmon Arm residents, this evening (April 28/26) you may notice a large number of Salmon Arm Fire Department apparatus and members in the Little Mountain neighborhoods. These members will be conducting a wildland based scenario to prepare our members in case of a real event. This scenario will run between 6:30 and 8:30pm.
With wildfire season upon us we want to make sure that we are ready if the call comes.
We want our residents to be aware that this is a training exercise and please use caution when driving in the Little Mountain area as there will be a number of fire apparatus on the road.

With summer coming it is a good time to think about FireSmarting your property. A few simple things that you can do are clean the combustible debris out of your gutters and take low limbs off of your trees to prevent a ground fire from turning into a crown fire. For more information about FireSmart you can visit www.FireSmartbc.ca and for a a free home assessment in Salmon Arm please contact Tyler Stevenson at [email protected] or 250-803-4065.

Good afternoon Salmon Arm residents, the Salmon Arm Fire Department would like to notify our residents that we will be conducting an ice rescue practice this evening (January 21/26) on McGuire Lake. Please don’t be alarmed if you happen to see some of our members out on the ice between 6:30pm and 9:00pm.
Even with the recent cool temperatures it is still recommended to stay off of our local waterways due to thin ice in our area.
