The Elgin-Middlesex Regional Fire School is offering 𝗡𝗙𝗣𝗔 𝟭𝟬𝟮𝟭 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗿 𝗟𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝗜𝗜, providing an opportunity to build on your Fire Officer Level I certification close to home.

𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘀
• Course: NFPA 1021 Fire Officer Level II (OFC Course Code: OFC-02019-26-EM)
• Online Start: August 1, 2026
• In-Class Training: September 11-13 and September 25-27, 2026
• Location: Strathroy Fire Station, 220 E. Centre St., Strathroy, ON
• Cost: $375
• Prerequisite: NFPA 1021 Fire Officer Level I

Congratulations to Brad McCormick on successfully completing his NFPA 1001 Firefighter Level I & II training. We are proud to recognize Brad as a member of the Elgin-Middlesex Regional Fire School Class of 2026 and wish him every success in his fire service career!

𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗿𝘂𝗶𝘁 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

Congratulations to the 46 recruits who successfully completed their NFPA 1001 Firefighter Level I and II training through the Elgin-Middlesex Regional Fire School.

Representing communities across Elgin and Middlesex Counties, this year's graduating class includes individuals from a wide range of backgrounds, including policing, paramedicine, corrections, healthcare, skilled trades, agriculture, business, and more. While their experiences may differ, they share a common commitment to serving and protecting their communities.

Over the past several months, recruits dedicated countless hours to developing the knowledge, skills, and confidence required to serve in the fire service. Their achievement reflects not only their hard work and determination, but also the support of their families and the dedication of the Fire School staff, instructors, and Fire Chiefs who helped guide them throughout their training.

Congratulations to the Class of 2026, and thank you to everyone who contributed to their success. We wish these new firefighters all the best as they begin this next chapter of service to their communities!

A big thank you to From the Vines for doing such an exceptional job catering our 2026 Fire Recruit Graduation.

The food was enjoyed by all and helped make the evening a wonderful celebration of our recruits and their accomplishments.

Elgin County would like to take a moment to recognize the courageous firefighters who serve our communities each and every day. Whether responding to emergencies, supporting residents in times of need, or promoting fire safety and prevention, firefighters are there when it matters most.

To all volunteer and full-time firefighters across Elgin County, and to firefighters everywhere, thank you for everything you do to keep our residents safe. Your dedication, bravery, and teamwork do not go unnoticed, and we are grateful for the service you provide every day.

This week, April 12–18, marks National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, a time to recognize and celebrate the vital role telecommunicators play in keeping our communities safe.

Often the first point of contact in an emergency, telecommunicators provide calm, clear communication and critical support when it matters most. Their professionalism, quick thinking, and dedication help ensure first responders have the information they need to act quickly and effectively.

Elgin County extends our sincere appreciation to all public safety telecommunicators for the essential work they do each and every day. Thank you for being the steady voice behind every call!
