Garcelon Civic Center - June 16th Closure for Grand March - 4pm

The Garcelon Civic Center will be closed to the public June 16th beginning at 4pm for Grand March.

Doors will open at 6pm for the event.

The gym and pool will remain closed for the night.

Grad entrance will be the vestibule doors to the right side of the sliding doors.

The facility fully re-opens at 8am June 17th as usual.

Municipal District of St. Stephen: Parks Re-opening Alert for the Waterfront Trail and Wharf, the floating dock has been installed

The section of Waterfront Trail by the wharf in the Municipal District of St. Stephen (MDSS) is once again open after the installation of the floating dock on the wharf. You are now to enter the facility, the gate will be closed but the floating dock can be accessed by opening the latch. Thanks to our Public Works crew that assisted with the installation, we appreciate our residents patience and co-operation while this work went ahead. Please stay safe on the wharf, remember no swimming or diving is recommended from the wharf and children should be supervised around the wharf at all times.

SUMMER 2026 - ROAD WORK UPDATES:

Below is the Municipal District of St. Stephen's current schedule for road and operations work. Over the coming weeks, some roads will be subject to temporary closures for construction, milling, paving, and related infrastructure improvements.

Please note that the roads listed below represent our anticipated closures based on the current construction schedule. However, this list may not be comprehensive, as work plans can change due to weather conditions, project progress, unforeseen site conditions, or operational requirements identified by the contractor or the municipality.

As work proceeds, we encourage residents and visitors to watch for posted road closure notices, detours, and traffic control personnel. Also a reminder that all construction zone are NO PARKING and vehicles will be towed.

We will continue to provide updates as information becomes available.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we undertake these important improvements to our transportation infrastructure.

The Municipal District of St. Stephen is inviting residents to take part in our Canada Day Essay Contest!

Tell us—what does living in Canada mean to you? Whether it’s community, nature, culture, or opportunity, we want to hear your perspective.

Contest Details:
• Theme: What Living in Canada Means to Me
• Word Limit: 300 words or less
• Categories:
o Youth (ages 10–15)
o Adult (ages 16+)

Prizes:
Winners from each category will receive a once-in-a-lifetime experience—riding up in the bucket of the ladder truck on Canada Day!

Bonus:
Winning essays will be proudly shared on the Municipal website and social media.
