Starting today, August 12, 2026. Milling has begun on Brunswick Street in Blacks Harbour.

Paving activities will take place for approximately 2 weeks on both 𝐁𝐫𝐮𝐧𝐬𝐰𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐭 and 𝐂𝐞𝐝𝐚𝐫 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐭.

We kindly ask residents to follow posted signage and give crews space to work safely.

💧Blacks Harbour & Beaver Harbour Water Project Committee 💧
Last Thursday, August 6th, the newly formed Blacks Harbour/Beaver Harbour Water Project Committee held its first meeting at the Eastern Charlotte Heritage Museum in Blacks Harbour.
This is an important first step toward addressing the long-standing water needs of our communities.
There is a lot of work ahead, but we are committed to working together and moving forward toward a reliable and sustainable water solution for Blacks Harbour and Beaver Harbour.

Eastern Charlotte Council awarded the contract for the new multi-use Childcare building. Construction is expected to begin this fall, with the facility anticipated to open in late spring 2027.

A special weather statement has been issued for the area by Environment Canada:

Beginning Wednesday afternoon and persisting into Friday expect hot and humid temperatures up to 34 degrees with humidex.

Happy NEW BRUNSWICK DAY!

The municipal office for Eastern Charlotte will be closed on Monday, August 3, 2026, in observance of the New Brunswick Day holiday.

The office will open for regular hours on Tuesday, August 4.

Today, Atlantic Baptist Housing Inc.'s executives provided an update to the displaced tenants of Granite Court Apartment building on the progress following the January 2026 fire. They reaffirmed their commitment to fully restoring the property, with a return for tenants in 2027. A formal news release will follow: Atlantic Baptist Housing
