The first week of school went by in the blink of an eye and we hope The BIG Start program has helped participating children and youth start the year off confidently.

This year 58 children and youth from across Niagara were able to participate in our shopping day, and overall 200 backpacks were packed with over 2400 new items!

Thank you to everyone who donated to The BIG Start! A special thank you goes to the Niagara Pen Centre for once again hosting and donating to this much needed program. We're also grateful to all the participating retailers including Industria Pizzeria + Bar - St. Catharines, Zehrs, Kingpin St. Catharines, Trillium College Spa, Sport Chek , Mark's , Arlies (Boathouse), T-shirt Time, and Claire's

This year's campaign was also generously sponsored by PenFinancial Credit Union and Switzer-CARTY Transportation! Backpacks were donated by Vintage Hotels, and donations were collected at Seaway Mall.

The school year just started, but we're already looking forward to The BIG Start 2027!

Exciting news!

The BBBSN and Pathstone partnership location at the Niagara Pen Centre is moving to an expanded unit in the Zehrs hallway across from Booster Juice! To make the move as smooth as possible, the current unit will be closed on Tuesday, September 8th, and the new unit will open on Wednesday, September 9th.

Once we're in the new unit, BBBSN will be on site Tuesday's and Wednesday's from 11am to 7pm. We encourage community members to come in and talk to BBBSN staff about volunteer opportunities, child and youth enrollment, and other ways to support youth mentorship in Niagara!

Get ready for Retro Rewind!🎳

Bowl for Kids’ Sake is back on Wednesday, February 24th and Friday, February 26th, 2027! This year’s theme is Retro Rewind, so start searching through your closet, or visit your favourite local thrift store (like our very own Nearly New store) to put together your best retro outfit.

Whether it’s 50’s, 70’s, 90’s, or the 2000’s, we want to see what retro means to you!

Introducing our new Administrative Coordinator Petrice!

Petrice grew up in the Niagara Region, and attended the University of Guelph for English and Centennial College for Book and Magazine Publishing. She's a writer at heart and has written some children's nonfiction books on a variety of subjects. She loves reading, travelling and cuddling with her family's two adorable morkies, Mickey and Teddy. Petrice is thrilled to join the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Niagara team!
