As part of the MNL's Climate Ready program that the town has signed on with, they will be hosting an open house at the municipal building this Thursday from 10 - 7.

The purpose of this engagement is to receive climate observations and experiences from local representatives and residents as we continue to work with them on the program which helps local governments stregnthen their climate resilience by developing key skills and implementing adaption strategies.

Residents are welcome to stop by anytime during the day and share your experiences relating to climate change.

Construction will be starting tomorrow morning to replace a culvert down by the old graveyard. At times will be down to 1 lane only with flaggers in the area. Work is expected to be finished by Monday.

Waterlines down the harbour will be flushed late tonight around 11:00pm.

Canada Day activities will be going ahead, everything is moved inside the municipal building. Come along for some fun, food, tea and coffee

The Burin Peninsula Regional Service Board advise residents of changes to the waste collection schedule due to the Canada Day Holiday. Please note the waste collection schedule for Wednesday July 1 to Friday July 3, 2026 will be pushed ahead one day to accommodate the Holiday. Waste scheduled to be collected on Wednesday will be collected on Thursday. The schedule for all areas on these days will be moved ahead a day for this week only.

Also note the waste disposal site will be closed on Canada Day, Wednesday July 01, 2026.
