Yesterday was a big day for Seager Wheeler Farm! Nine Mile Legacy Brewing, in Saskatoon, canned “Isle of Wight”, a golden ale made from heritage barley grown at the Farm, and malted on the floor at Makers Malt. This project has been in the works for some time, and we’re so pleased that it’s finally happened!
Larry Epp, our orchard manager, and Kerry Blatz, Seager Wheeler’s great grandson, were on hand for the canning of the beer, which is named in honor of Seager Wheeler’s birthplace.
The timing is perfect, and Isle of Wight will be available at the Beer Garden during Harvest Festival on Saturday. You will also be able to find it at the Co-op Liquor Store, and of course, at Nine Mile in Saskatoon.

Today marks the end of our 2025 summer season! Thank you to everyone who made a trip to visit Seager Wheeler Farm - wedding guests, school groups, tourists, and folks who enjoy desserts. It’s been our pleasure to welcome you to the historic home of Dr. Seager Wheeler, and tell you about his story.
We look forward to seeing you again in 2026!

Tomorrow is our final Dessert Night of 2025! We are planning our usual delicious desserts, including Pumpkin Cheesecake, Sour Cherry Plautz, Angel Food Cake with Lemon Curd Whipped Cream, Chocolate Cheesecake, and Creme Brûlée.
We’re open from 6:30-8:30, and we’d appreciate a call if you’re planning to come with a group larger than 5 people.
The end of the summer season also means it’s time to say THANK YOU and goodbye to our fantastic summer students - Marry, Scotia, Lydia and Sasha. Their positive attitudes, willingness to do any job they are given, and friendly smiles, make the Farm a great place to work! We wish them all the best in this next year of their education!

The crops on the drive out to the Farm are beginning to turn color, which can only mean that the summer season is close to ending. Tonight is our second last Dessert Night!
Our desserts this week are a decadent baked Chocolate Cheesecake, Pavlova with fruit sauce and whipped cream, Lemon Meringue Pie, fresh Apple Crisp, and a creamy Raspberry Parfait (gf).
If you’re planning to come with a group larger than 5, we’d appreciate a call for a reservation.

One of our goals for Dessert Night is to feature the fruit grown in our orchard. Sadly, our fruit harvest has not been a good one this year, so we’ve had to get creative with our desserts!
Today we are featuring Angel Food Cake with Saskatoon Berry Sauce, Flourless Chocolate Cake, Apple Pie Cinnamon Buns (!), Saskatoon Berry Shortcakes, and Rhubarb Apple Crisp.
We’re open from 6:30-8:30 tonight and we’d appreciate a call to make a reservation if you’re coming with a group larger than 5.
If it happens to be raining, feel free to drive around to the west side of the Visitors’ Centre and park there.

Don’t let the smoke keep you from coming to Dessert Night at the Farm this week!

On the menu this week is fresh Fruit Crisp, Cheesecake, Angel Food Cake with Lemon Curd Whipped Cream, and, of course, Pie! This week we have Sour Cherry, Apple, and Coconut Cream Pie.

We’re open from 6:30-8:30, cost is $5.00 for kids 10 and under, and $9.00 for adults.

We’ve been checking the orchard carefully for the last few days, and unfortunately it looks like our fruit crop is extremely sparse this year.
As a result, we won’t be opening for u-pick of Saskatoons, Sour Cherries or Apples.
Of course, this isn’t the fruit season we hoped for, and we look forward to a better season next year.

On the menu tomorrow is Sour Cherry Pie, Apple Pie, Angel Food Cake with Lemon Curd Whipped Cream and Strawberry Sauce, Black Forest Cake, and Bread Pudding with warm Caramel Sauce.
