𝗪𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗙𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗶𝗽 𝗖𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁

Today, Warden Dominique Giguère met with Nate MacIntyre of the Rip Current Information Project to present funding through the Elgin County Grant and Sponsorship Program. Nathan accepted a cheque for $1,683.16 in support of the organization’s public education and water safety initiatives.

The Rip Current Information Project works to improve public awareness and understanding of dangerous rip currents and water conditions along the Great Lakes, with a focus on promoting water safety and preventing drownings across the province.

Funding will support educational outreach through presentations, information booths, printed materials, videos, and community engagement activities taking place throughout the 2026 season, including events in Port Burwell, Port Stanley, Vienna, Port Glasgow, and other communities across the region.

Thank you to Nathan and the Rip Current Information Project for the important work you are doing to help keep residents and visitors safe along Elgin County’s shoreline.

All Elgin County Library branches will be closed on Monday, May 18 for Victoria Day. All branches (except West Lorne Library which is currently closed for renovations) will be open on Saturday, May 16 for you to grab enough board games, puzzles, and books to keep the whole family entertained all long weekend. And our Digital Library is always open!
