This past weekend, our Members in Training (MITs) completed a successful overnight training exercise focused on developing essential SAR skills, teamwork, and endurance in real-world conditions.
Throughout the exercise, participants worked through navigation challenges, search scenarios, radio communications, patient care, and overnight field operations. Training in realistic environments helps prepare our team members for the demands of emergency response while building confidence and strong working relationships within the team.
We’re proud of the dedication, professionalism, and positive attitude shown by all of our MITs and mentors during the exercise. A big thank you as well to the volunteers and instructors who helped make the training a success.
These kinds of exercises are critical to ensuring our team remains ready to respond when our community needs us most.

What a day! Went from a mutual aid call out for a missing child in Red Deer, got stood down en route as child was found safe and in good health to MIT (Members In Training) overnight training. Shelter building, fire starting (water and fire extinguishers on hand), team building, search types, and more to come tomorrow. Thank you to our volunteer members who pour their heart and soul into our organization! We truly couldn’t do it with out you all!

For those that may be heading May Long Weekend Camping in the Bearberry area please stay off the lake. It will be used for water bombers to help fight the fire.

UPDATE: STAY OFF THE LAKE
Forestry 🌲contacted us this morning.
They will be using Burnstick Lake for water bombers🛩 to suppress the fire 🔥by Bearberry.

Join us on April 25th at the Langdon Firehouse Bar & Grill for an extraordinary event in support of the Badlands Search & Rescue (BSAR).

The BSAR team has been tirelessly providing Ground Search & Rescue services to our community since their formation in 2010, filling a crucial gap in SAR coverage east of Calgary.
Now, they need our support to continue growing in terms of people, abilities, and resources. By attending this fundraiser, you'll be directly contributing to the important work they do.
Delight your taste buds with an amazing Brisket buffet, complete with all the sides, fixings, and a delectable dessert. Tickets for this mouthwatering experience are available for $50 per person, with most of the ticket sales going directly to BSAR.
