We had another fantastic week of teaching and learning at Rockland Public School!

Ms. Evans' class enjoyed reading The Sweetest Rosh Hashanah by Mara Bergman and celebrated the holiday tradition with honey and apples. Mr. D's class has been exploring geometry by using shapes to map out their classroom, while our Kindergarten students have been busy engaging in meaningful play-based learning experiences. To end the week, we had a well executed practice fire drill!

It's always inspiring to see our students learning, exploring, and growing each day! 🌟

The first few weeks in Ms. Oxenham’s class have been all about building a strong classroom community rooted in respect, teamwork, and support. Today, we took on the Marble Run, or "Bobsleds," challenge! We didn’t quite complete it this time, but we came incredibly close. We’re excited to keep learning, growing, and giving it another try!

Everyone is learning at RKPS! 🍎 Our teachers have been collaborating to learn Acadience Online, helping us better assess reading levels and identify learning needs. Students have been busy learning new routines and expectations, while also building important social-emotional skills through Everyday Speech, a visual program that teaches communication, self-awareness, relationship-building, and problem-solving. At RKPS, we are all learners, and we're off to an amazing start! 🌟

What an amazing start to the school year!🎉

Thank you to our dedicated staff, supportive families, professional bus and van drivers, and enthusiastic students for working together to make the transition back to school so smooth. Staff members have been focused on building strong connections, reinforcing routines, and fostering safe and inclusive classrooms.

We're especially proud of the kindness our students have shown to new RKPS families and the extra attention given to our new Junior Kindergarten students. A special thank you to families for embracing our new parking and drop-off routines, helping everyone begin the day feeling relaxed and positive.

Way to go, Rapids! 🎉

We are excited to welcome students back on Wednesday, September 2, 2026!

Teacher Welcome Emails: Will be sent on Tuesday, September 1, families will receive a welcome email from their child's teachers.

First Day Arrival:
• Teachers will be lined up behind the fence by grade level with signs and clipboards.
• Students in portable classrooms should go directly to their portable.
• Staff will be available to help students find their teacher.
• Parents/guardians are not permitted on the school yard.
• Students eligible for transportation are encouraged to ride the bus.

Parking & Drop-Off:
• NO parent/guardian PARKING on school property during arrival and dismissal for the first week of school.
• Please use the New Beginnings Church parking lot or the Kiss & Drop Lane (no parking permitted in the lane).
• Supervision begins at 9:20 a.m. Please do not arrive before this time.

Dismissal is at 3:50 p.m. If your child's dismissal routine changes, please notify the office before 2:00 p.m.

Kindergarten Families: An adult must be present at the bus stop to meet Kindergarten students. If no adult is present, the student will be returned to the school.

Thank you for helping us ensure a safe and smooth start to the school year. We can't wait to see everyone back at school!
