Twelve years ago today, Codiac Regional Royal Canadian Mounted Police Constables Dave Joseph Ross, Fabrice Georges Gevaudan, and Douglas James Larche gave their lives in the line of duty while protecting our community during a senseless act of violence. Their courage, service, and sacrifice will never be forgotten. 💙

What a night — a farewell, a new beginning, and a heart full of gratitude. 🤗

Last night marked the official conclusion of my ten-year journey on Riverview Town Council, as I attended the Oath of Office ceremony and welcomed the newly elected Mayor and Council into their roles.

In a very personal and joyful moment, I asked my lovely lady to marry me last night — she said yes! 💍☺️❤️ So while one chapter of my life has officially closed, another new and exciting chapter has begun.

Serving the residents of Riverview has been one of the greatest honours of my life. When I was first elected in 2016, I already knew how much my hometown meant to me, but over the past ten years, serving our community has only deepened that love and given me memories I will always treasure. The experiences, friendships, opportunities, and personal growth that came from this journey have changed me for the better.

I was truly honoured to be elected by my Council peers twice to serve as Deputy Mayor. That trust meant a great deal to me, and I will always be grateful for the opportunity to help represent our town in that capacity.

Over the past decade, I had the privilege of serving alongside dedicated Council colleagues, municipal staff, community organizations, volunteers, and residents who care deeply about our town. Together, we celebrated successes, worked through challenges, and contributed to making our already wonderful community even stronger.

Serving on various committees, boards, and liaison roles over the years also gave me a deeper appreciation for the many people and organizations working hard behind the scenes to strengthen Riverview and the greater region.

Through this work, I built meaningful connections, collaborations, and friendships across the tri-community and throughout New Brunswick. I especially valued my time with the Union of Municipalities of New Brunswick, where conferences, zone meetings, shared ideas, and common purpose reminded me how many dedicated people are working hard to strengthen communities across our beautiful province. I will miss those moments of connection with colleagues — and I’ll admit, I was looking forward to earning that 12-year service pin — but I will always be grateful for the time I had and the sense of togetherness that came with being part of the Union.

To the many colleagues, connections, and friends I have made over the years, please do try to stay in touch. I hope our paths continue to cross, and I would always welcome the chance to reconnect in good company and thoughtful conversation.

Of all the roles I served in, the one dearest to my heart was serving as Council Liaison to the Riverview Veterans & Armed Forces Association. I have tremendous respect for our local veterans, their families, and the important work the Association continues to do. While I can no longer support their initiatives from the municipal level, I will continue to champion our local vets. I look forward to attending the ceremony this fall marking the full restoration of the Centurion Tank in Caseley Park, and I’m proud to have played a small collaborative role alongside members of the veteran community and Town Hall in helping move this meaningful project forward.

Even with the disappointment of this chapter coming to an end, I can honestly say the rise was worth the fall. The honour of serving Riverview, the people I met, the friendships I made, and the memories I carry with me will always mean more than the outcome of one election.

I want to sincerely thank the residents of Ward 3 and Riverview for the trust you placed in me over the years. I will always be grateful for the opportunity to represent the town I proudly call home.

I would also like to congratulate Mayor LeBlanc and all members of the new Council. Municipal government is not always easy, and the decisions made around the Council table often involve balancing many competing priorities and perspectives. I encourage residents to give this new Council a fair opportunity to listen, learn, govern, and lead. We all share the same goal: making Riverview the best it can be.

That said, my love for Riverview has certainly not changed, and I will continue to support our town, advocate for issues important to our community, and remain engaged as a proud resident.

Going forward, I do plan to keep this page active, but in a more community-minded way. This page will continue to reflect my appreciation for Riverview, while keeping the tone respectful, constructive, and focused on the community we all care about. I may occasionally share memories, community-minded posts, and positive moments from around our town that I feel are worth celebrating.

Over the last ten years, I have taken thousands of photos throughout our community and across the tri-community, and without fully realizing it at the time, I was helping document a decade of memories, moments, and community life. I want to maintain that photo archive and continue preserving those memories in a way that honours our community.

And while this chapter has closed, I fully intend to seek public office again in the future — at any level of government — as long as my heart and my head tell me it is the right path. I still have fire in my belly to help my community prosper, and I believe I can continue making a meaningful difference.

So no, this is not goodbye — it’s see you later.

For now, I am looking forward to taking a well-deserved break, spending more quality time with the people I love, and stepping into this new and exciting next chapter with my bride-to-be by my side. ☺️

Thank you, Riverview.

It has truly been an honour.

With sincere appreciation. -Jeremy 💙

Good evening,

I want to sincerely thank everyone who supported me throughout my campaign, and everyone who took the time to vote in Ward 3 during the election period. While Ward 3 had the lowest voter turnout in Riverview, at 29.49% of eligible voters, I truly appreciate every resident who came out and made their voice heard.

I want to offer my sincere congratulations to Kelly Forsythe Preston for Ward 3, your new Councillor-Elect! 👏 I wish her all the best as she prepares to serve the residents of Ward 3, and I look forward to helping ensure a smooth transition into the role.

My thanks also go to all candidates who put their names forward to serve our wonderful community. Riverview is stronger when people care enough to get involved and contribute to our town’s future.

In the weeks ahead, I will reflect on my time on Council and share some final thoughts on June 1st during the oath of office ceremony.

Thank you, and God bless. 💙

Tomorrow, the residents of Riverview will head to the polls to help shape the future of our community, and before that happens, I simply want to say thank you. 💙

Over the past 10 years, it has been one of the greatest honours of my life to serve the people of Riverview as your Ward 3 Councillor and for two terms as Deputy Mayor. Throughout this journey, I have worked diligently, faithfully, and impartially for our community, always striving to lead with integrity, respect, and a genuine desire to make Riverview the best it can be.

Public service has changed me in many positive ways over the past decade. It has helped me grow personally and professionally, and I credit much of that growth to the people, experiences, and perspectives I’ve been fortunate enough to encounter along the way.

This campaign has reminded me why I care so deeply about public service. I’ve had the opportunity to speak with residents from all walks of life: seniors, veterans, young families, business owners, volunteers, and first-time voters. I’ve listened to your concerns, your ideas, your hopes for our neighbourhoods, and your vision for Riverview’s future. Those conversations have meant more to me than words can fully express.

Over this term, I have been proud to support meaningful progress for our community, including responsible financial management focused on long-term affordability for residents, stronger public safety through additional fire, rescue, and policing personnel with improved frontline resources, important infrastructure and traffic safety improvements, support for mental health initiatives, advocacy for veterans, preservation and expansion of public spaces like Mill Creek Nature Park, and major community investments such as the Riverview Recreation Complex and outdoor all-wheel skatepark. Alongside these priorities were the countless thoughtful decisions made every day to help strengthen Riverview for the long term.

As this term comes to a close, I also want to express my appreciation to Mayor LeBlanc, my Council colleagues, our CAO, Directors, and the incredible Town of Riverview staff who work hard every day behind the scenes to serve our residents and keep our community moving forward. Their professionalism, dedication, and care contribute greatly to the high quality of life we are fortunate to enjoy in Riverview.

One of the things I’ve always appreciated most about Riverview is the strong sense of community that still exists here. Whether it’s volunteers giving their time, local businesses supporting community causes, or neighbours simply looking out for one another, those values are what continue to make Riverview feel like home for so many people. I also remain grateful for the many local businesses, community organizations, and volunteers who contribute so much to Riverview behind the scenes and help preserve the welcoming spirit and strong sense of connection that keeps Riverview’s roots growing deeper every day.

Election campaigns ask a lot of candidates and their families. They mean long days, missed meals, evenings away from home, and time that can never quite be replaced. I have felt those sacrifices deeply, and I know every candidate who puts their name forward makes them in their own way. That is why I have great respect for anyone willing to step forward, serve, and be part of our local democracy.

I want to sincerely thank my family members, supporters, those who volunteered their time to help, and every resident who encouraged me throughout this campaign, whether by displaying a lawn sign, sharing a post, attending an event, offering advice, or simply stopping to say hello. Your kindness, trust, and encouragement have humbled me every step of the way.

Whatever tomorrow brings, my commitment to Riverview remains the same. Serving this community has never been about politics for me; it has always been about people. Riverview is my home, and serving this community has meant more to me than many people will ever know.

Thank you, Riverview, for the trust and support you have shown me over these past 10 years. I have carried that responsibility with gratitude, care, and respect.

On May 11th, I am respectfully asking to once again earn your support as I seek a third term as your Ward 3 Councillor. 🗳️✅

Happy Mother’s Day to my mom, and to all the incredible mothers, grandmothers, stepmothers, bonus moms, and mother figures in our community. 💐

A good mother has a special way of bringing comfort, guidance, and strength to her children and loved ones. Through life’s busy moments and everyday challenges, mothers continue to offer encouragement, patience, and unwavering support — always putting the people they love first.

Today is a meaningful reminder to recognize and appreciate the care, sacrifices, and love that so many mothers share with their families each and every day.

Wishing all moms a wonderful Mother’s Day filled with love, gratitude, and time with those who matter most.

This morning, I had the opportunity to sit down with Kim Wilson, CEO of the Chamber of Commerce Greater Moncton, to discuss priorities for Riverview and the broader region.

I especially appreciated our discussion around small business support and the role municipalities can play in helping create the right conditions for entrepreneurs, employers, and local organizations to succeed. A strong business community is an essential part of a strong, vibrant municipality, and I’m grateful for the Chamber’s continued leadership, advocacy, and commitment to keeping our region moving forward.

Thank you, Kim, for the thoughtful conversation, and sincere thanks to the entire Chamber team for the important work you do on behalf of the local business community.

Today, I attended my final Board of Directors meeting with the Riverview Veterans & Armed Forces Association before election day.

It has been a true privilege to serve as their Council Liaison and to advocate for our local veterans throughout this term. If I am fortunate enough to be re-elected on May 11, I will respectfully ask Mayor LeBlanc to allow me to continue in this role, so I can continue to champion the important work of the Association and its members, who give so much to our community. 🇨🇦🎗️💙
