Thank you for all the support from our community through all of our fundraisers and Rafflebox Nova Scotia Firefighters 50-50 as we were able to purchase our new fire truck! We were able to have it for our last training night which we got to have a little play with it as well. Without the support of the community, this would not be possible, so we are extremely grateful for the support! Thank you!

What a fantastic Pub Night! 🍻🎶

A huge thank you to everyone who came out last night to support the River John Fire Department- Nova Scotia. Your support means so much and helps make events like this possible.

A special thank you to Route 6 for donating their time and talent and absolutely rocking the house all night long!

We’re also incredibly grateful to Final Touch Party Rentals, The for generously donating the drapery, lighting, and high-top tables that helped create the perfect Pub Night atmosphere.

Thank you to Kelly's Pizza for providing us with a great deal on the pizzas that kept everyone fed throughout the evening.

Nova Scotia will be among the provinces across the country to experience the shrill screeching siren of the public alerting system today.

A test message and tone from Alert Ready will be broadcast on television, radio and compatible wireless devices.

Test messages will be issued in nearly every province and territory except Quebec and Saskatchewan at specific times between morning and early afternoon, with Ontario’s test set for Thursday.

In Nova Scotia, the alert is scheduled to take place at 1:55 p.m.

The system is typically tested in May and November and is part of Canada’s effort to ensure it works and raise awareness.
