🦐 “Fish Tales: Cannery Community Cooking, Past and Present” book is here!

A heartfelt thank you to Trish Whetstone () for sharing her stories and presenting a special cooking demonstration in the Cannery’s Boiler House Theatre. The inspiration for the Fish Tales exhibit grew from our partnership with UBC’s Initiative for Student Teaching and Research in Chinese Canadian Studies (), and this book proudly continues that legacy by preserving and celebrating the rich culinary and community histories of the Cannery.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this special event. We extend our appreciation to Dr. Henry Yu and the team, Andy Hobbs (), and the Cannery Board Members for their support. Thank you to Shady Island Seafood Bar & Grill () for providing the savoury seafood samplings. 🥰

📘 “Fish Tales: Cannery Community Cooking, Past and Present” is now available in the Cannery Store—pick up your copy today and discover the stories, recipes, and traditions that connect our community’s past and present.
