Today, we pause to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and to honour the first responders who ran toward danger when others were trying to escape.

We remember the paramedics, firefighters, police officers, dispatchers and countless others who answered the call—many making the ultimate sacrifice.

Their courage, service and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

With students heading back to school, crosswalks will be busy again.

Please slow down, stay alert and stop when a crossing guard enters the roadway. They are there to help children cross safely—and they need every driver’s full attention and cooperation.

A few extra seconds can prevent a lifetime of consequences.

Air Ambulance Week is September 7–13, and this year’s theme is “Every Mission Starts With You.”

From remote communities to our busiest cities, our air ambulance crews provide advanced and critical care when every minute matters. This week, we recognize the paramedics, pilots, dispatchers, and all those who work together to bring lifesaving care to patients across BC.

Thank you for your dedication, skill, and commitment to the communities you serve.

This Labour Day, we recognize the generations of workers who stood together to build safer workplaces, fair wages, better benefits and stronger protections for working people.

We also thank B.C.’s paramedics, call takers and dispatchers—and all those working today to keep their communities safe and supported.

The progress we enjoy was built through solidarity, and together we will continue working toward safer, healthier and more respectful workplaces for everyone.

Happy Labour Day from the Ambulance Paramedics of BC.

Great speaking with the media today about the importance of Community Paramedicine in BC.

This program brings care directly into people’s homes, particularly in rural, remote and Indigenous communities where gaps in access to healthcare can be significant.

BCEHS’s own reporting has highlighted the success of Community Paramedicine and the important role it plays in connecting patients with healthcare professionals they may otherwise struggle to access. It’s a proven example of how paramedics can help fill gaps in our healthcare system, strengthen preventative care and keep people healthier in their own communities.

We believe that success should be properly funded, expanded and protected.

Want to know more about Community Paramedicine and how this integral program can be expanded in your community? We’re working with and .bc to protect and strengthen Community Paramedicine across BC.

September is Su***de Prevention Month.

Behind every call for help is a person, a family, a friend or a colleague who may be carrying more than we can see. And sometimes, the first responders answering those calls are carrying more than we realize too.

Check in on the people around you. Ask how they’re really doing. Listen when they answer. And if you’re struggling yourself, please reach out.

A simple conversation can matter more than you know.

In Canada, call or text 988 anytime for su***de crisis support.
