MAY FTX! While some of our cadets led the Ultimate Tournament, the rest of us were in the field for our Spring FTX. The theme of the FTX? PITCH PERFECT and every syndicate was named after each of the iconic groups. We were blessed with amazing weather, interesting hands-on lessons, decent shelters, and we had MREs brought back!

After years of catered food, our cadets were able to experience the thrill of military rations - good food in a compressed package is a staple to the wilderness experience. We brought back Iron Chef, had quite a few ambitious attitude checks, and our cadets had a whole lot of fun.

Bravo Zulu to everyone who came out for a great time! We hope to see more of you out here helping out and making memories. Can't find it anywhere else!

Make sure to sign up for next year's FTX weekend!

692 ULTIMATE ADA! Last month, our squadron held the 3rd Annual Ultimate ADA: hosting over 10 units from across the Lower Mainland!
There was a great amount of teambuilding, esprit de corps, and physical fitness that was seen throughout the day!

Congratulations to 777 Neptune RCACS for winning the competition and well done to everyone who received awards!

Shoutouts to all the support staff cadets, participants, and officers for facilitating this activity and providing amazing energy! Keep it up and see you all next year!

Near the end of April, our squadron band participated in the Lower Mainland Band Competition! Our band played well and performed a great display of drill routines while playing on their instruments, which is no easy feat.

Our Drum Major, FSgt Aaron Mai, was awarded 3rd Place for Top Drum Major while our band placed 4th in the C Division! It’s been a while since we have been able to perform on the big stage, so this is just the beginning! Hopefully, this experience has ignited a fire in our cadets to perform even better next year! Bravo Zulu!

Last month, our squadron hosted the first First Aid Competition ADA! Multiple units with First Aid teams came together to demonstrate their effective strategies for proper first aid in various situations.

The top 3 Senior teams were:
🥇692 RCACS 🥈637 RCACS 🥉655 RCACS

The top 3 Junior teams were:
🥇637 RCACS 🥈692 RCACS 🥉609 RCACS

Big congratulations to Sgt Zoe Ng from 692 RCACS for being the top Senior Team Captain and FCpl Micah Lam from 637 RCACS for being the top Junior Team Captain!

Thank you to all the officers for administering the exams, being the scorers and artists, and faciliating the entire event. Shoutout to the support cadets for acting as casualities to simulate an active rescue field! This ADA would not have been a success without the support of the officers and all cadets involved, especially our participants! Bravo Zulu everyone!

Congratulations to WO1 Myra Yu for aging out of the Air Cadet Program! Throughout the years, WO1 Yu has demonstrated exceptional deportment and esprit de corps in all aspects. She frequently attends extracurricular activities such as snowshoeing, marksmanship, and is no stranger to FTXs! She's been a part of Advance and Rear Party many times and has become an expert at building mod tents! She has literally travelled across Canada for Summer Training: from Argonaut CTC in New Brunswick for Drill and Ceremonial Instructor to Whitehorse CTC in the Yukon Territories for Survival Instructor! She has also competed in multiple years for Drill Team and demonstrated excellent drill knowledge and standards. Her continuous efforts have been rewarded by receiving the Lord Strathcona Medal and the ANAVETS medal! WO1 Yu brings a positive energy wherever she goes while providing a solid leadership approach when leading over 300 cadets on parade and in training as a whole. We thank you for all the time you have spent with us and we know that your energetic personality and dedicated work ethic will show you great success in the future!

Congratulations to Lt(N) Cheung, CD for receiving his Canadian Forces’ Decoration Medal, which is award to CAF members with at least 12 years of service with good conduct! Lt(N) Cheung is currently our Training Advisory Officer, assisting with extracurriculars such as being a panelist for Merit Review Boards, providing input on Training decisions, and enjoys supervising the occasional weekend activity like snowshoeing!. He is knowledgeable on policies and can be relied on to provide guidance within the Cadet Program. He has been involved with Band and Effective Speaking for quite a few years, guiding cadets to success through his leadership development methods. Bravo Zulu!

Thank you to Maj Gee, our Area OC, for presenting the medal to him.

Congratulations to OCdt Ho for officially being attested into the Canadian Armed Forces through the Cadet Instructor Cadre! OCdt Ho has been working diligently as the Assistant Training Officer for the past two years and has been working closely with our Level Directors to ensure delivery of instruction and Performance Checks are completed. She is also one of our Drill Team officers: sharing her experience to educate our new and senior cadets to more refined movements. As a CAF member, her current role does not change, but her presence is now enhanced through formal military training to enforce policies for the Canadian Cadet Organization. Bravo Zulu!

Thank you to Lt Lo, our Training Officer, for being her attesting officer!

Congratulations to WO2 Nathan Ngai for aging out of the Air Cadet Program! WO2 Ngai has consistently displayed qualities of an effective cadet by demonstrating a high level of drill, dress, and deportment since his early years. His leadership and instructional abilities have enabled him to teach regular weekly training and Ground School effectively to aspiring cadets - and was awarded the RCSU(P) CO's Coin for his commitment and performance.

Throughout the years, he had shown great dedication to the aviation program: receiving both Glider and Power Pilot wings, and subsequently working as a Staff Cadet for Air Operations. He's participated in Familiarization flights and helping RCSU in Spring Break Gliding. He has also found success in Marksmanship - consistently scoring high and competing at the Provincial level in his third year on the team. Overall, he has shown outstanding leadership capabilities and has put in his best effort to help guide the squadron to a higher place.

Bravo Zulu to WO2 Ngai on his achievements through the program and we wish you the best of luck in your future wherever it takes you!
