Richmond Multicultural Community Services - RMCS RMCS is a non-profit organization that provides services for newcomers to live meaningfully in Richmond.

We host a range of programs and community events to facilitate settlement and promote multiculturalism, diversity, and inclusiveness in Richmond. Richmond Multicultural Community Services (RMCS) has a vision for a harmonious and inclusive society that values equality and diversity. y. We are known for the services we provide to support the immigrant and refugee communities in Richmond. We are passionate about our role in the settlement, education, and integration of immigrants from the day they arrive in Richmond. We strive to welcome newcomers by assisting with their initial settlement needs. RMCS offers one-on-one support for newcomers to Canada as well as English language training, seniors programs, youth programs, and job search assistance including resume & cover letter writing support. Our staff is here to provide settlement services if you are new to Canada or have immigrated here long before. If you’re looking for help and don’t know where to begin, we are here to support you. Our Inclusive Communities Program (ICP) serves to help create a welcoming community for all. This program focus on diversity and inclusion, and is dedicated to assisting organizations and businesses create an inclusive city for newcomers to Canada. “Working with RMCS was one of the best decisions I made for my educational journey in Canada. As a mature student balancing family, work, and future planning, I wasn’t sure what my next step should be. RMCS provided professional guidance, encouragement, and personalized support throughout my entire application process.

Beyond academics, their commitment to community truly stood out. I volunteered over 50 hours each year, and the experience enriched my life in Canada while allowing me to support others. The team’s patience, honesty, and genuine care helped me build confidence step by step.

Our Income Tax Clinic has officially wrapped up for the season, and we want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to every volunteer who made it possible.

Your time, patience, and kindness made a real difference for our clients. Over these weeks, we watched you grow more confident, support one another, and bring so much positivity into the space. Getting to know each of you has truly been a highlight for our team.

Although tax season is over, we may still reach out if clients need help with late filing. And if you’re interested in volunteering in other RMCS programs — events, front desk, thrift store, or more — we’d love to have you continue with us.

“I just want to share how much my time at RMCS has meant to me. As a newcomer, it was truly where everything started — I made friends, found my first part-time job through someone I met in the RMCS English class, and now I’m working full-time. I’m really grateful for everything RMCS has done for me.

My gratitude has never gone away. I still find myself telling friends about RMCS — whether it’s volunteering or joining events, it’s always been such a rewarding and enjoyable experience. I’m really glad I get to give back in this small way.”
