After a year-long restoration, the Britannia Shipyard building has now reopened ⚓️

Thanks to all who joined us for a sneak peek last weekend during Doors Open Richmond. Heritage Consultant Elana Zysblat led behind the scenes tours of the newly restored shipyard building and shared stories about the project team, materials used, challenges and discoveries along the way, and how the entire project was guided by national standards for conservation.

Visit the national historic site, now open daily 10am - 5pm, and book a guided tour to learn about this building and the diverse communities who lived and worked here. Tours offered daily at 1:30pm for $12 + GST per person - drop by the Visitor Centre for more details.

🔈We’ve uncovered Silver Ann for the season and started up the engine for the first time this year. The boat is powered by the legendary Ford Industrial 300 inline six gas engine. This motor was once widely used in everything from pickup trucks to farm equipment. Silver Ann’s is in great shape, always easy starting, running smooth and quiet!
