The City of Revelstoke, BC Campfire Ban is being lifted today September 1st, 2026, effective immediately, echoing BC Wildfire Service lifting the category 1 campfire prohibition being rescinded within the Southeast Fire Centre.

However, you must still exercise caution and due diligence:
-Do not burn in windy conditions
-Establish and maintain a fuel break
-Do not leave the campfire unattended
-Ensure the campfire is fully extinguished before leaving the area
-Carry out fire control immediately and/or report the fire if it spreads beyond the established fuel break

If you see an out of control fire within Revelstoke, please call 911

If you see a wildfire outside the City of Revelstoke, please report it via *5555 (on cellphones) or 1-800-663-5555

The fire was extinguished by a Good Samaritan with a garden hose. Engine 1 confirmed fire extinguished and checked for any extension. Being none, Engine 1 and Chief 11 clear of scene.

Practice Night!
Your Revelstoke firefighters are out at RMR Staff Housing on Camozzi Road tonight practicing high-rise firefighting skills.
Many thanks to RMR for this rare opportunity to train in an occupied high-rise structure!
Update 8:49pm - fire practice concluded and all apparatus and crew are back at the fire station cleaning the equipment and restocking the trucks for the next call.
