As the weather gets warmer, door-to-door scams will be more common, especially for restricted products and services like water filters and air conditioners.

Door-to-door scammers are often aggressive, pressuring you to sign expensive, confusing, or possibly fraudulent contracts.

In Ontario, many common home services are restricted from doing door-to-door sales (unless the customer reaches out first). These include:

- Air conditioners
- Hot water tanks
- Duct cleaning services .. and more.

See the full list of products and services that arenโ€™t sold door to door, learn about Ontarioโ€™s mandatory 10-day cooling off period, and what to do if a scammer is targeting you.
