It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Dianna Ingham, a longtime and dedicated volunteer with St. John Ambulance in Regina.

Dianna gave countless hours of service to our community with compassion, kindness, and unwavering dedication. Alongside her beloved therapy dog, Ruby, she touched the lives of many through visits and support provided as part of our Therapy Dog Program. Together, Dianna and Ruby brought comfort, joy, and connection to so many individuals throughout Regina.

Dianna’s warmth, generosity, and commitment to helping others will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and working alongside her. Her impact on our organization and community will not be forgotten.

A funeral service for Dianna will be held on May 29th at 2:00 PM at Regina Funeral Home (4001 Victoria Ave. E). I've spoken with folks at Regina Funeral Home and they are welcome to therapy dogs attending.

If you are unable to attend in person, you are welcome to join the service virtually at the following link:

Please keep Dianna’s family, friends, and all those impacted by her loss in your thoughts during this difficult time.

Kito’s volunteer journey is a powerful example of how dedication and community involvement can grow into meaningful leadership.

Starting in the St. John Ambulance youth program in 2010, he built a strong foundation through camps, competitions, and first aid training. As a Cadet, he gave back early by helping lead weekly trainings and supporting large-scale triage events, showing a commitment not just to learning, but to mentoring others.

In 2020, Kito transitioned into the Medical First Response (MFR) program, where he began providing first aid coverage at a wide range of events. Through hands-on experience and guidance from skilled instructors, he quickly developed both his clinical and operational expertise. His growing leadership led him to take on the responsibility of coordinating local first aid requests. By 2022, he was working alongside Toronto Paramedic Services to help plan and deliver medical coverage for major events, gaining valuable experience in emergency management and large-scale operations.

In 2024, Kito was appointed Unit Chief of the Central Toronto D0001 MFR Unit and Team Lead for the Toronto Region Special Events Task Force, roles that reflect both his expertise and his commitment to service.

For Kiti, volunteering has been more than service hours—it’s been a pathway to real-world experience, strong professional networks, and lasting friendships. He continues to give back, inspiring the next generation of volunteers to step into leadership and make a difference in their communities.

If you’re looking to build skills, expand your network, and have a tangible impact, volunteering might be the opportunity you’ve been waiting for. Take a look at our volunteer training here https://sja.ca/en/first-aid-training.

Denise and Molly bring a quiet moment to a busy place. 🐾

At the Halifax airport, Molly's calm presence brings moments of peace to travellers' busy days. That's the thing about therapy dogs: they don't need much time to make a real impact. Sometimes it's just being there.

Long weekends are for getting away, not getting caught off guard.

Before you head out, take a few minutes to plan for the basics: pack a first aid kit, make sure you're prepared, and know where the nearest clinic or emergency services are if you’re travelling.

Small steps make it easier to deal with the unexpected on the road, at the cottage, or on the trail.

Safe trips start before you leave.

Emergencies at home don’t come with a warning, but knowing what to do in those first moments can change the outcome.

With our Awareness: First Aid at Home course, you’ll learn practical, everyday skills to handle situations such as severe bleeding, burns, choking, and more, without prior experience.

This course focuses on:
• How to respond quickly and safely in common household emergencies
• When and how to apply techniques like direct pressure
• What steps to take while waiting for help to arrive
• How to stay calm and in control when it matters most

It’s designed for real life because most emergencies happen where you live. Build the confidence to act when it counts!
