A special shout-out to our amazing teachers, whose dedication, creativity, and hard work help our Firebirds grow as writers and find confidence in their voices. Your efforts make these special moments possible!

❄️ First Day of Snow at Fairview! ❄️

What an exciting day for our Firebirds! The snow brought lots of smiles, especially for our newcomers who were experiencing snow for the very first time! 🤍

During our EAL classes, Mr. Feddema has been teaching our students how to get ready for winter. Thanks to his lessons, they all came prepared, dressed for the weather, and ready to play in the snow! 🧤🧣❄️

Today, our Firebirds had a special visit from WITSUP!

WITSUP came to remind us how to stand up to bullying, make safe choices, and treat others with kindness and respect. We learned that we all have a role to play in making our school a safe and welcoming place for everyone!

And of course, we had LOTS of fun dancing with WITSUP!

Did you know our Firebirds can win prizes every week?

At Fairview, everything we do is rooted in the Circle of Courage model, which guides us in creating a school community where everyone feels valued, supported, and encouraged to grow.

The Circle of Courage focuses on four core values:

Belonging: Building positive relationships and making sure everyone feels welcome and included.

Mastery: Learning new skills, challenging ourselves, and celebrating our progress.

Independence: Taking responsibility for our choices and becoming confident, independent learners.

Generosity: Showing kindness, helping others, and making a positive difference in our community.

Each week, we focus on specific Skills of the Week that help our Firebirds put these values into action. When we catch our students demonstrating these skills, they receive a Skills in Action ticket!

Every Monday, we draw a name, and one lucky Firebird wins a prize!

A big congratulations to our winners from this week and last week, Sandra and Presley! Way to go, girls! We are so proud of you for putting our skills into action!
