Is this thing on?

So, I went to The Vat tonight, while the machine recovered. When got home, it was wagging its tail, waiting for me to do something. I guess you could say.... IT'S ALIVE!!!!!!!!

There is a glimmer of hope. The studio might rise again before the end of this month. HAAAAARD!

It sucks, but until things change in the real world (read: I become employed again), the studio will be down. The hard drive outright failed a couple weeks ago and replacing it is absolutely out of the question until a revenue stream is secured. Yes, this sucks.

"What have you been up to?" Er, this.

Remix of KharmaGuess - Blood (feat. Christina Marie Magenta) by Rezonatti.

The newest toy for the studio. This bad boy makes a final mix sound really sharp.

I am opening up the floor to remixes. One thing I've found in the past is that it's HARD to do a remix of a song by an artist I'm VERY familiar with, whereas I can pound the crap out of artists I've never heard (or only heard briefly). I think it comes from not wanting to destroy a song I love. It explains how I was capable of doing that remix of Still Remains by Screwtape Lewis back in '02 (I had only met the band and their music a month prior), yet I got hung up hard on doing the remix of Deserve by Screwtape Lewis seeing as I was a member of the band in that song. Or the Blue Stahli and Celldweller and 403 remix attempts. It's hard to remix songs you enjoy so much. That's what I have figured out. I am working on a remix by a band none of you will have ever heard of (sorry, but in this age of Internet tomfoolery, I'm very certain you have never heard of these guys!). I'm having a fu***ng blast destroying this song. And it's a contest. I have listened to all the other remixes so far... I feel mine is in the top 10% of clever. I said wooooo-hooooo. *indignant look*

With the bass traps now installed, the sound dampening panels built and installed (minus one, which I don't even know if I'll need), and the vocal room seemingly sounding the way I want it to sound, nothing can stop me now! MUHUHUHAHAHA!!!!

Er, well... except the fact that I'm only home for 7 days at a time. Damn. Stupid "real job..."

Well, that was different. The first piece of work (heh, yeah "piece of work") to be sent out the door from the new vocal room wasn't a great rock vocal ballad. It wasn't a charming young woman doing a version of her favourite pop star vocals.. No, it was me shouting "I LOVE EBM!" over and over in various takes for a Sebastian Komor track. He said he would accept anything from a good mic, to someone using their cell phone. I'm sure he'll appreciate the low floor noise. lol

Probably the last piece of the studio puzzle, as far as functionality is concerned:
