All too often, while we're in conversation with one of our clients, they apologize to us ... for being slow in answering the door, for being hard of hearing, for being on a 'special' diet, for being an inconvenience. And every time, our reply is the same: You absolutely are NOT an inconvenience--that's what we're here for!!

Our volunteers are awesomely patient and often go out of their way to help clients be successful in our service, and our office staff are old pros at figuring out how to adapt to individual needs. And if any of us have concerns or need support, there are procedures in place to help find a resolution to any issue we might encounter. But a client being an inconvenience is emphatically not a problem we recognize!!

So, please, give us a call if you think you (or a loved one) might benefit from a little bit of extra assistance ... we'd be happy to do our best to help!

Volunteers all need to tell you about their upcoming days off? Boss away? First you try to intimidate them into not going on vacation 🤨and then you cry a little 😭and then you cheer up when you realize that it is a problem for next week--when the boss is back and when you're gone on vacation yourself!! 😜

Our program director, Louise, will be away for a bit, enjoying a well-deserved vacation. We promise that the MOW service won't be affected by her absence ... but we can't make the same promises about our staff ... 😬😁 We'll keep you updated on how our time goes while the boss is away--stay tuned! And fingers crossed!!

Before you know it, summer will be over and the kids will be heading back to school 😱😭😆

If you find yourself with a pocket of time to fill in the middle of your day, RD Meals on Wheels would LOVE to have you come be one of our volunteer drivers!! We're always looking for 'casual' and substitute drivers who can help out every now and again ... and we can often use folks who can commit to drive on a more regular basis, too.

So, if you're a parent with a couple hours free midday ... a recent retiree looking for something to do this fall ... a worker with a flexible schedule ... an employer wanting to make a difference to your community ... anyone with a drivers license and a vehicle and the desire to be a local hero, really ... we'd love to hear from you! Give our office a call or email to find out how to become part of our volunteer group 😍
