There’s one week left to share your input on Raymond’s Municipal Development Plan (MDP) Review.

The community survey closes Friday, Sept. 18, at 4:30 p.m.

Your feedback, along with input gathered through the community open houses, will help inform Council’s decision-making as we plan for Raymond’s future.

The survey is an opportunity to share:
• Your priorities for our community.
• Your perspectives on Raymond today.
• Your ideas for the years ahead.

Haven’t received your survey? Surveys were sent by email or mail on Aug. 4, based on your preferred contact method on file. If you cannot find yours, contact the Town Office. With confirmation that you are a taxpayer or landowner, we can provide a survey link. Paper copies are also available at the Town Office during regular operating hours.

Today is a special day for Raymond as we celebrate the ribbon cutting of the new Raymond High School.

This milestone has been a long time coming and reflects years of hard work, collaboration, and community support. We’re grateful to the Government of Alberta, Westwind School Division, project partners, and town crews for helping bring this project to life.

The new high school is an important investment in our community and provides space to support Raymond’s growing student population. We’re excited to see the opportunities it will bring for students, families, and the town for years to come.

The Town of Raymond is looking for enthusiastic, responsible Event Staff to help keep VSP clean, safe, and welcoming for teams, families, and community groups. This is a great opportunity for mature high school students (ages 16+) to gain valuable customer service and community-facing work experience.

Shifts are on an as-needed, on-call basis and may include evenings, weekends, tournaments, and community events. If you’re dependable, enjoy working with people, and are ready to be part of your community, we’d love to hear from you!

Starting in September/October, FortisAlberta crews will begin replacing meters as crews and materials become available. Customers will not be charged an additional fee.

The exchange takes less than 10 minutes and includes a brief power interruption. Technicians will explain the process before beginning and confirm the new meter is working once power is restored.

New meters will provide benefits such as improved safety and reliability, bi-directional capability for customers with solar panels, and future outage communication.

The marquee sign at the Community Centre is temporarily out of service due to technical difficulties.

We’re working with the company’s technical team to get the sign back up and running as soon as possible.

In the meantime, please check our social media and raymond.ca for updates and information that would normally be shared on the sign.

Join Council and Administration for the second Municipal Development Plan (MDP) Open House before the community survey closes.

This informal open house is an opportunity to stop by, ask questions, share your input, and have individual conversations with Council and Administration. There will be no sit-down presentation.

Admission is free, so bring your family, cheer on the athletes, and enjoy an afternoon at the park.
