Observing traffic signs:
Council has requested the OPP to conduct a traffic enforcement program on rural Township road. Due to recent accident(s) at controlled intersections where "Stop" and/or "Yield" sign were ignored the OPP will be monitoring traffic on rural roads. For your own safety drivers are reminded that Stop signs mean Stop. And at uncontrolled or signed intersections you must always yield to traffic on your right. Please slow down and arrive alive.

INTERN CLERK-TREASURER POSITION

The Township of Dawson and the Township of Lake of the Woods are accepting applications for the position of intern Clerk Treasurer. The successful candidate will oversee administrative and financial operations for both municipalities. For further information contact the undersigned. Dawson Township Capital Projects 2025
Council has approved improvements to Acree Road and a portion of the Nelles Dilke Road. A layer of Type A crushed 5/8″ gravel and calcium chloride were applied to Acree Road. A portion of the Nelles Dilke Road was excavated then a filter mat and gravel fill was applied to approximately 900 metres of roadway. A layer of crushed gravel and calcium chloride is to be placed on this section of roadway. The municipality is appreciative of the funding for the project from our allocation of the Canada Community Building Fund.

Council has received a consent application 34B2501 from Roger & Gail Langlais to make a lot addition to their property in RR Lots 19 and 20 Dilke Twp. The meeting to consider the application will be held on May 7th 2025 at 7pm in the Municipal Council Chambers at 211 4th St Rainy River.
