ℹ A reminder to motorists as we navigate some major road construction in Quispamsis: When traffic is reduced at a construction zone and motorists are waiting their turn to advance, please do not block intersections at side streets. Leave space to allow other motorists to turn and clear the area quickly and safely.
🚗 Blocking the intersection means:
❎ Motorists travelling in the opposite direction are unable to make a safe left turn onto a side street, which could create a backlog of traffic attempting to exit the construction zone. Traffic could be stopped in both directions!
❎ Motorists are unable to make a safe left turn from a side street to the main road because of an obstructed view and path.
🚘 Instead, stop prior to entering the intersection while waiting to navigate the construction zone. That way:
✅ Motorists travelling in the opposite direction can turn safely and maintain traffic flow out of the construction zone.
✅ Motorists can make a left turn from a side street when it is safe to do so.
🚶🏼♀️ Also, please do not stop on crosswalks while waiting pass through a construction zone.
