Avec l’apparition de nouveaux modes de création en art actuel, le collectif de LA CHAMBRE BLANCHE a repensé la notion de l’in situ. Les nouvelles méthodes de production et de recherche pour les artistes ont permis à LA CHAMBRE BLANCHE de concevoir l’espace virtuel et l’espace réel comme voies d’exploration incontournables. Les laboratoires du centre proposent aux artistes une façon différente d’ap
préhender leur production artistique. Les laboratoires sont mis à la disposition des artistes qui désirent pousser une réflexion alternative au contexte de création en art actuel. Ouverts aux pratiques pluridisciplinaires, les laboratoires sont un lieu de fabrication qui permet pour chaque usager d'envisager la pratique de l'art numérique et du design dans un contexte où il est directement acteur de la chaîne de production. L'objectif étant en effet d'inscrire la fabrication au cœur même du processus de création, afin qu'elle soit partie intégrante de celui-ci, et non pas seulement une étape finale de la concrétisation matérielle. Dans cette convergence entre conception et production, cet espace d'expérimentation ouvre vers de nouveaux processus de création d'objets. Le faire, l'expérimentation et la transversalité seront au cœur du projet, il ne s'agira pas de s'en tenir à des hypothèses, mais bien d'élaborer et de faciliter la conception/production pour aller jusqu'à la réalisation des objets finis et jusqu'à la diffusion. Le projet s'insère donc dans une perspective de réappropriation des moyens de production par les artistes et par les intervenants du milieu, actualisant la notion de DIY (Do It Yourself) en collaborant à un mouvement citoyen propre à l'autogestion. Une aide technique est proposée, ainsi que diverses formations sur les équipements nécessaires à ce type de production. With the emerging of new creation modes in contemporary and current art, LA CHAMBRE BLANCHE’s collective had to rethink the site-specific notion. New production and research methods for artists have allowed LA CHAMBRE BLANCHE to conceive the virtual and the real space as inescapable exploration routes. The centre’s labs offer artists a different way of grasping their artistic production. Labs are made available to artists wishing to pursue an alternative reflexion to the creative contemporary art context. Open to multidisciplinary practices the labs are a venue of production that allows each user to address the artistic practice within a framework where he or she becomes a direct part of the production line. In short, the artist experiences a paradigm shift. The goal being to put the manufacturing at the very heart of the creation process, in order for it to become not only a final step of the material realization, but an integral part of it. In this convergence between conception and production, new experimentation space emerges towards new creation processes of objects. The doing, the experimentation and the transversality will be at the heart of the project, it twill not be a matter of sticking to assumptions, but rather to develop and facilitate the design/production to get to the making of finished objects and up to the dissemination. The project therefore fits into a perspective of reclaiming of the production means by the artists and the stockholders, thus updating the DIY (Do It Yourself) notion by taking part in a citizen movement conductive to self-management. A technical support is offered as well as various information sessions about the required equipment for this type of production.
