Monday, June 8, 2026 meeting chaired by co President Carolyn Christison. Invocation by Gerry Herkel. Guests are our guest speaker Renate Sutherland of the B.C. & Alberta Guide Dogs, and Glen Bonderud.

Renate spoke about helping train Labrador retriever service dogs for the blind,low vision, autism, and veterans and first responders with PTSD. She brought her black lab, Wink. There is more info at bcandalbertaguidedogs.com

Glen Bonderud is the incoming assistant district governor for our district. He gave a short review of his duties for the upcoming year.

Treasurer Clare Holloway presented the club budget. Unanimously approved.

Ron Stothers advises that all the volunteers for our upcoming 2026 Parksville Beach Festival ambassador dates have now been filled.

Bill Duckenfield reported on our Flag program - we now have 428 people using our program.

Gonda Lekx spoke about the upcoming Show ‘n Shine on Father’s Day. All hands are needed that day.

Lovely evening of learning, giving and receiving!

Dollars raised from our Gift Card Program, we presented Major Sergei from Salvation Army $2700 in Gift Cards for their Senior Security Program (bringing total give this year to $5200).

We received a cheque for $9530 from Parksville Chrysler's Golf Tournament spearheaded by Rotarian Bob Bourgeault❣️

We had Dan from MacMillan Garden Program presenting tonight to teach us about how much they help the Oceanside community with the fresh food they grow and provide. The fruit tree project, workshops they host and the upcoming Summer Sunday Farmers Market 9:30am-1pm.
