A message from Shaveta Sharma, the science teacher here at JSMS
"This is why we must continue to encourage, support, and invest in our students.
Feeling deeply proud and grateful today.
At the Canada-Wide Science Fair 2026 in Edmonton, Alberta, Aiden earned a Gold Medal, while another team, Molly and Nik, received a Bronze Medal among 393 participants representing all regions and communities across Canada.
These accomplishments were the result of their sustained dedication and perseverance. Behind the curtains, I witnessed these students staying after school, using recesses and personal time to refine their projects and continuing to practice their presentations on the flight and throughout the trip itself. Their discipline, collaboration, and dedication to excellence were truly inspiring.
Beyond the awards, this experience provided our students with an invaluable opportunity to engage with and learn alongside exceptional young scientists from coast to coast to coast, from the Pacific Ocean in the west, the Atlantic Ocean in the east, and the Arctic Ocean in the north across Canada, including international delegations from Thailand and Taiwan.
I would also like to extend my sincere gratitude to our staff, administrators, families, and the wider community for their continued encouragement and support. Achievements such as these reflect the collective efforts of a community that believes in empowering students to pursue their potential with confidence and determination.
Extremely proud of our students and all they have accomplished."
