🚧 🚧 🚧 Well - We can't believe we have to remind people of this again... DO NOT MOVE BARRICADES. 🚧 🚧 🚧

Barricades are placed for a reason: to protect the public from unsafe conditions and hazards. When someone moves a barricade, they aren't just putting themselves at riskβ€”they're creating the false impression that the area is safe for everyone else.

If a road, street, or work area is barricaded, please respect the closure and STAY OUT!! Taking a shortcut is not worth risking injury, property damage, or worse.

Help keep everyone safe by leaving barricades exactly where they are placed!

🚨THIS! 🚨

Please understand that we close bridges and roads for safety only.

RESPECT all barriers in place as there may be hidden dangers that you cannot see from the road...

This is the most southern bridge on Gobeil Road. Please make wise choices!

🚧 Buckland Road Update – Road Surface Reclamation Project 🚧

The RM of Buckland will be reclaiming approximately 1.8 km of Buckland Road from a sand-sealed surface back to gravel. This section, located between Range Road 2275 and Range Road 2274, has reached a point where ongoing maintenance and future rehabilitation can be more effectively managed as a gravel roadway.

This decision supports responsible use of ratepayer funds, reduces long-term maintenance costs, and helps ensure a sustainable road network for years to come.

Please see the map below showing the affected section of roadway. Thank you for your understanding and continued support as we work to maintain our municipal infrastructure responsibly.

🚜 Attention Oversized Load Operators & Agricultural Producers 🚜

Due to the washout at White Star West, oversized loads, including farm equipment, can no longer access the RM of Buckland from the west using that route.

At this time, the only west-side access route for oversized loads into the RM of Buckland is via Highway 355 through Sturgeon Lake First Nation.

Please plan your travel routes accordingly and allow for additional travel time.

We appreciate everyone's patience and cooperation while this situation is being addressed. We will provide updates as more information becomes available.

🌊 Spring Moisture & Flooding Support Information for Producers 🌾
With recent spring flooding and excess moisture impacting fields across Saskatchewan, here is a quick summary of the support options, insurance features, and deadlines available to help you navigate this season:
πŸ“‹ Saskatchewan Crop Insurance Corporation (SCIC) Options
Delayed Seeding: Excess moisture and flooding are insurable causes of loss. The final deadline to seed most crops and receive insurance coverage is June 20.
Unseeded Acreage Feature: Included with multi-peril Crop Insurance, this provides coverage for land that is too wet to seed. Please note that claims will not be accepted after **June 25**.
Establishment Benefit: If your crops fail to establish or suffer a loss prior to June 20 due to flooding or other insurable causes, you can register a claim.
Important: Contact SCIC immediately if you plan to reseed or work down a portion of an insured crop, as an adjuster must inspect the acres first.
AgriStability: This program uses margins to offset the impacts of flooding. It factors in grain/feed inventory losses , livestock losses , and lost production from land that was too wet to seed or flooded after seeding.
🀝 Ministry of Agriculture & Wellbeing Supports

The RM of Buckland has spoken with SPSA regarding the Lobstick Fire near MacDowall. At this time, the fire remains on the south side of the river and is not considered a significant concern to our RM.

πŸ‘€ We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates if conditions change.

β›ˆοΈ With this storm rolling in, residents are reminded to be prepared for possible lightning strikes. If you see a fire, please call 911 immediately.
