Twelve years ago, Corporal Nathan Cirillo was murdered in uniform, standing guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The killer, an Islamist terrorist sympathizer, then rushed into the Centre Block on Parliament Hill.

Just two days prior, Warrant Officer Patrice Vincent was murdered, in St. Jean Sur Richelieu, QC by another ISIS-inspired terrorist attack.

We must remember these men, and their sacrifices. We must honour their memories.

I am deeply saddened by the tragic loss of Private Shaun Farrell of the 3rd Battalion Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry during a fire-related training incident at CFB Wainwright on Saturday. My heartfelt condolences go to his family in Prince Albert. My thoughts remain with all who are grieving.

Very disappointed that MP Tamara Jansen's Bill C-218, which would have permanently stopped the scheduled expansion of MAID in cases where a mental illness as the sole underlying medical condition, was defeated this afternoon in the House of Commons.

I will vote in favour of my CPC colleague’s Bill C-218 to prevent MAID from being expanded to cases where mental illness is the sole underlying medical condition. I hope that all MPs on both sides of the House vote in favour of this bill. Those suffering form mental illness deserve caring and compassion.

Canadian farmers should be focusing on harvesting their crops, not on how they are going to pay their diesel bill. They need affordable fuel to keep our economy moving.

Attended the 4th annual Truth and Reconciliation walk in Shellbrook this morning. The walk began at WP Sandin High School where students listened to the words of Hugh Merasty and others. A community barbecue will begin at 11:45 am. Donations will be accepted.
