Thank you to Firefighters Jase, Finn and Jed for giving up your weekend to learn new skills at the Saskatchewan Volunteer Firefighters Association Fall Fire School in Weyburn. Buckland is fortunate to have Firefighters dedicated to serving their community at the highest level. Thank you to Weyburn Fire for hosting an excellent educational experience.

Tonight for training, crews conducted a live fire drill in our training sea can. It was an excellent opportunity for Firefighters to feel some elevated heat and experience real world fire conditions. Crews trained on water supply, pumper operations, hose deployment, thermal imaging cameras, fire attack and self-contained breathing apparatus. Live fire training takes firefighters to the next level and gives us valuable experience and confidence in real world interior firefighting operations in a controlled environment. This training makes us better skilled and professional to the residents we protect. This level of training is a game changer for our department. Big thanks to our members for attending tonight.

Heavy Rescue Extrication Training Weekend

Buckland and Lakeland Firefighters gave up their weekend to complete heavy rescue extrication training in order to be better prepared to serve our communities and save lives in the time of need. The training was provided by JD Fire Rescue Training. It was an amazing weekend of learning that provided both classroom and hands-on training. Big thanks to Lakeland Towing for your excellent work in setting up realistic scenarios for the Firefighters. We enjoyed the challenge! The dedication of Firefighters in our region is truly remarkable.

Good afternoon everyone,

We have been advised from Can-Ops that due to the Sasktel outages not all calls are going through. If you have an emergency and call 911 in the RM of Buckland and it isn’t going through please call 1-306-960-1025 and we will work with Sask 911 to dispatch emergency crews.

Hopefully this outage is resolved soon!

Stay safe

Volunteer and Paid-On-Call Firefighters all over this great province drop whatever they are doing to respond and help someone in need, which often sacrifices family time and events. Thank you Premier Moe for the recognition. It is greatly appreciated.

Last week for training, crews conducted a timed hose deployment drill. Firefighters had two minutes to stretch an attack line and get water flowing while breathing air from a Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA). This is an excellent drill to help keep our Firefighters skills sharp.

Thank you to D Platoon from the Prince Albert Fire Department for the great opportunity to train together tonight. Training makes our Departments stronger, which results in a more professional emergency response for the community.
