📢 Now Hiring: Wildland Firefighters

Take on a challenging role in all-hazards and wildfire response. We’re hiring new and experienced, dedicated, and safety-focused Wildland Firefighters (Type 1) across Saskatchewan to protect people, communities, and the land.

💪 Qualifications:
• Meet or exceed CIFFC standards for Type 1s
• Physically fit for demanding, often remote work
• Comfortable flying in aircraft; operating trucks, pumps, hoses, and hand tools

🏠 Living Accommodations: Available in most locations to support seasonal staff.

📅 Dates: Seasonal positions run from April to August. The application deadline is January 31, 2026.

SFNEM is proud to announce the winners of our Sk First Nation Regional Firefighting Competition.
Congratulations to Black Lake Fire Department for placing 1st overall in the competition🎉 They will be representing Saskatchewan at the National Competition next month in Calgary.

Congratulations to the second place winner Team 2 from Fond Du Lac Denesuline First Nation👏🏽

Our third place winners and first time participating at the regional event was Cumberland House🚨

Our most sportsmanlike team and also first time competitors was Little Red River Indian Reserve👏🏽

It was a great event and we could not have done it without our location host the Carlton Comprehensive High School!🎉
Thank-you to everyone who supported our event especially staff at SFNEM and PAGC forestry department our judges from Buckland Fire, equipment support Carl & Vicki Eggiman with FFWB and all our vendors who made the day special for our firefighters.
