Please be advised that the Augusta Township Office, Public Works, Fire Station 1 (Maitland), Public Library, and Waste Transfer Stations will be closed on Monday, September 7, 2026.

During this time, the Fire Department will remain available to respond to emergencies.

Low-cost Rabies Vaccination Clinic

Protect Your Pets from Rabies

Rabies is a serious but preventable disease. One of the best ways to protect your pets and help prevent the spread of rabies in our community, is by keeping their vaccinations up to date.

A low-cost rabies vaccination clinic will be held on Wednesday, September 16, from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. in partnership with the Leeds, Grenville & Lanark District Health Unit.

Location:
Prescott Works Garage
950 Sophia Street North, Prescott

Cost: $25 per vaccination (cash only)

Please note:

- Dogs must be on a leash.
- Cats must be in a carrier.
- Pets must be at least four months of age and in good health.
- One person per animal.
- No pet examinations will be provided.

Looking for something to do this week? Augusta Township has a great lineup of programs, activities and events for all ages.

This week, the Sunday Morning Walking Club returns to the Maitland Education and Recreation Centre. It’s a great opportunity to get moving, enjoy the outdoors and connect with others in the community.

Our Seniors Connect Lunch & Learn program is also happening this week, offering adults 55+ a chance to enjoy a meal, learn something new and spend time with others.

And Treasure Day in Augusta Township is also happening this week. Take some time to explore the community, discover hidden gems and see what treasures you might find. There’s lots happening across Augusta Township this week, so get out, get involved and enjoy all that our community has to offer!

NOTICE: Please be advised that the Township of Augusta has issued a Door-to-Door sales license to Bell Media, a third-party contractor, under the Township's Regulate Transient Trader/Door-to-Door Sales Policy.

Bell Media will be informing and notifying members of the public of products available through door-to-door sales, between the hours of 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. From September until December.

If you have concerns, please ask the Bell Representative to see their Township-issued application.

Any questions or concerns can be directed to the By-Law Department at 613-925-4231 ext. 206.

Final tax bills have been mailed out today and are due on Friday, September 25, 2026. If you have not received your tax bill as of mid-September, please reach out to the Tax Department at (613) 925-4231 x 101 or email [email protected].

Please note that not receiving a tax bill does not exempt property owners from penalties for late payment. If you are mailing a cheque, please allow sufficient time for your payment to arrive before the due date.

Payment methods include:
- Online banking
- At your local bank branch
- Cheque, debit, or cash at the Augusta Township Office

The Township also offers a preauthorized payment program on both a monthly and semi-annual basis. Please email [email protected] for information about how to sign up.
