AWSA 2026 WELL DECOMMISSIONING CAMPAIGN

Assiniboine Watershed Stewardship Association Well Decommissioning Program
The Assiniboine Watershed Stewardship Association (AWSA) offers a well decommissioning program that aims to protect groundwater resources and improve property value. The program includes the decommissioning of abandoned wells, which are a hazard to groundwater and a liability for property owners. The AWSA provides experienced contractors to decommission wells according to Saskatchewan Water Security Agency standards, with costs typically around $400 per well. The program also introduces alternative land uses and a strategic water protection plan for the Assiniboine River.

ALL LANDOWNERS WITHIN THE AWSA MEMBERSHIP REGION ARE ELIGIBLE
