qSD is hosting a one-hour information session for prospective candidates Wednesday, September 2nd at 4pm at the School Board Office.

Join us to learn more about the role, responsibilities, time commitments, board governance, and get your questions answered.

Whether you’re considering running or simply curious about the role, you’re welcome to attend!

Brooks is turning 100 this October, and we’re celebrating by collecting memories, stories, and photos from students, graduates, staff, families, and community members who have been part of its history.

Whether you remember a favourite teacher, a funny moment, a memorable event, or have old photos to share, we’d love to hear from you. Every contribution helps bring Brooks’ 100-year history to life.

To contribute, email [email protected] or drop off a copy of your photos and/or written stories at the School Board Office (4351 Ontario Ave). Please do not submit original photos, as we cannot guarantee they will be returned.

Selected submissions may be featured in October’s edition of qathet Living, the district website (sd47.bc.ca), and across our social media channels ().

Deadline to submit is September 14th, 2026.

If you’ve ever thought about getting more involved in your community and making a difference, this could be your opportunity! Nomination packages are available for pick-up at City Hall.

On September 2nd, qSD is hosting a Candidate Information Session at the School Board Office (4351 Ontario Ave) from 4-5pm. If you’re interested in learning more about the role, the nomination process, and what’s involved in serving as a Trustee, we encourage you to join us. A reminder that qathet School District is hosting a one-hour information session for prospective candidates next week, on Wednesday September 2nd at 4pm at the School Board Office (4351 Ontario Ave).

Bus route schedules for the 2026-2027 school year are now available on our Student Transportation page at sd47.bc.ca

If you registered for student transportation prior to June 15th, or received an email confirming your child was automatically registered, bus passes will be available for pickup at the School Bus Garage (6580 Cranberry Street) from 9:00am to 2:00pm starting Monday, August 31st until Friday, September 4th.

Once you receive your student’s bus pass, please check the route and confirm their bus stop location and pickup/drop-off times, as some routes have had slight changes.

If you registered for student transportation prior to June 15th, or received an email confirming your child was automatically registered, bus passes will be available for pickup at the School Bus Garage (6580 Cranberry Street) from 9:00am to 2:00pm commencing Monday August 31st until Friday, September 4th.

After September 4th, bus passes will be available for pickup at your school office.

Please note: All other rider applicants will be granted seating based on availability and notified after the second week of school.

Interested in running for school Trustee?

qathet School District is hosting a one-hour information session for prospective candidates at the School Board Office (4351 Ontario Ave) on September 2nd at 4pm.

Come out to learn about the overview of the role of a school Trustee, time commitments and responsibilities, board governance, and the election process.

Prospective candidates will also have an opportunity to ask questions and learn more about serving the qathet community through public education.

Anyone who is considering running or simply interested in learning more about the role of a Trustee is encouraged to attend.

Kindy Connect is a great opportunity to explore the school playground, enjoy games and activities, take a short tour, and meet the friendly school team and other families before the first day of school. It's a welcoming, low-pressure way for your child to get familiar with their new school and begin making new friends.
