📚 The library opens for the fall season tomorrow!

Starting tomorrow, Tuesday September 15th, visit the PCSP Library to browse our latest arrivals, enjoy a quiet space to read, get some studying done, or check out our selection of puzzles and board games.

There’s plenty to do at the library, and you might even meet a new special friend while you’re here! 🐟

Fall Hours beginning September 15th until December 11th

Tuesdays: 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Wednesdays: 3:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. (Activity Night begins at 5:30 p.m.)
Thursdays: 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Fridays: 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. (Storytime program only)

New Arrivals in the PCSP Library 📚🌙

That’s a wrap on another splash pad season! ☀️💦

The PCSP Splash Pad will close for the season on Sunday, September 13 at 7:00 p.m. Thank you to everyone who made the splash pad part of their summer! This is our second summer with the splash pad, and it has been such a wonderful addition to our community.

We’ll share opening details for the splash pad in early summer 2027, and we can’t wait to see you back at the splash pad then! Until next summer, there’s still lots happening in PCSP. Stay tuned for seasonal events, programs and plenty more to look forward to. 🎃🍂✨

On September 11, 2001, 246 individuals prepared for their morning flights, while 2,606 people commenced their workday. Meanwhile, 343 firefighters began their shift, accompanied by 60 police officers starting their patrol and 8 paramedics initiating their morning shift, joined by 1 K9 unit. Tragically, none of them survived past 10:00 am. Their lives were abruptly cut short, leaving an indelible mark. The sacrifices made by these men, women, and service animal are truly ineffable.

Ready, Set, School! 🏫

As students head back to classrooms, buses return to their routes and families settle into new routines, we’re reminding everyone to slow down, stay alert and give students the space they need to get to and from school safely.

To support everyone getting to their destinations safely, please:

🚗 Slow down and follow posted speed limits in school zones.
🚌 Watch for school buses and never pass a bus when it is stopped with its red lights flashing.
🚶 Keep an eye out for children walking, cycling or scooting near roads and driveways.
🚌 Give buses plenty of space and be prepared for frequent stops as students get on and off.
👀 Stay focused, especially during busy morning and afternoon drop-off and pick-up times.
⚽️ The turf soccer field at Rainbow Gully Park is in use by the school Monday to Friday until 3:00pm.

A new school year means more children and young people are out and about in our community. A few extra seconds of patience and attention can make a big difference, let's work together to keep our community safe and have a great school year for everyone!

Update: water services have been restored. Thank you to all for your patience as our crews worked to resolve the water disruption.

🛠️ The Town is conducting emergency water repairs in the area of Maggies Place 🛠️

This may affect residents connected to the Town water supply that are located on Maggies Place, Meadow Heights or below the intersection of Meadow Heights & Portugal Cove Road. Crews have been dispatched and are currently on site assessing the issue to begin repairs.

Residents connected to the Town water supply may experience low water pressure or a loss of water while repairs are underway. At this time, we do not have an estimated restoration time, but updates will be shared as they become available.

Residents in the affected areas are asked to conserve water while repairs are being conducted. Once water service is fully restored, you may notice some cloudiness in your water. If this occurs, run your cold water taps for a few minutes until the water runs clear.

We understand the inconvenience of a water disruption and sincerely appreciate your patience as our crews work to restore service and maintain water service levels.

Today is an important day for the Portugal Cove - St. Philip's Volunteer Fire Department and our community.

On behalf of the Town, we extend our congratulations to Deputy Chief BJ Hibbs on his promotion. We look forward to seeing his leadership and experience continue to support the department and the residents it serves.

We also want to recognize Fred Hollett as he begins his retirement from the fire service. Fred’s many years of service, leadership and commitment have made a lasting contribution to our community. His dedication to keeping residents and fellow firefighters safe will not be forgotten, and he will be deeply missed.

Thank you, Fred, for your years of service to Portugal Cove - St. Philip’s, and congratulations, Deputy Chief Hibbs, on this new chapter.

Today also marks the official last day of service for former Fire Chief and Deputy Chief Fred Hollett.
Fred’s commitment to the fire service and to the Portugal Cove - St. Philip’s Volunteer Fire Department spans decades. His leadership, dedication, and countless contributions have left a lasting mark on our department, our community and our province.

Thank you, Fred, for your many years of service and dedication.
