Public Works Notice – Construction & Road Work Updates

Please use caution and expect delays in the following areas over the next few days:

McNeill Road – Across from the Medical Clinic
Heavy equipment will be working in the area and intermittently crossing both the roadway and sidewalk while work is completed on the cenotaph. Please use caution, watch for equipment movement, and give the right of way to machinery and crews working in the area.

Mountview Crescent – Ditch Clean Up
Public Works crews will be completing ditch and storm drain clean up using heavy equipment. Single lane traffic will be in effect with expected delays while work is underway.

Please:
• Drive slowly and use caution in construction zones
• Follow all posted signage and directions from flagging personnel
• Respect reduced speeds and give crews space to work safely

Our crews and contractors are working hard to improve infrastructure in the community, and we appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation.
Please remember our workers want to get home safely to their families too

What an incredible day celebrating the Town of Port McNeill's 60th Birthday! A heartfelt thank you to everyone who came out to Centennial Field to celebrate this special milestone with us. From the games, activities, and prizes to the hot dogs, cake, and community spirit, it was wonderful to see so many residents, families, friends, and visitors come together to celebrate our town's rich history and bright future. Events like this are only possible because of the many volunteers, community organizations, businesses, sponsors, performers, and staff who generously give their time, resources, and support. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who helped make this celebration such a success. For 60 years, Port McNeill has been built on community, hard work, friendship, and pride. Thank you for helping us celebrate this important milestone and for continuing to make Port McNeill such a special place. Here's to the next 60 years!

STAGE 1 WATER RESTRICTIONS NOW IN EFFECT

The Town of Port McNeill has entered Stage 1 Water Restrictions effective June 1 through September 30 in accordance with Water Use Restriction Bylaw No. 530, 2002.

During Stage 1 restrictions:

• Lawn and garden watering using hose-connected or automatic in-ground sprinklers is permitted only:

* Even-numbered addresses on even-numbered days
* Odd-numbered addresses on odd-numbered days

These restrictions help conserve our water supply during the drier summer months and ensure adequate water is available for essential use and fire protection.

We appreciate everyone doing their part to help conserve water this summer.

ROAD WORK NOTICE - May 28, 2026

Public Works crews will be completing road grading and ditch clean-up for storm drainage improvements on the north side of Mountview Road from 2283 Mountview to 2472 Mountview.

Time: 8:30 AM – 10:30 AM

Please move any parked vehicles from the work area to allow access for the grader and crew equipment.

Traffic delays may occur. Please slow down and use caution around workers and equipment.

NOTICE OF TRAIL CLOSURE

The nature trails between McNeill Cedar and Campbell Way will be closed on Friday, May 29 while crews complete trail clean-up and construction work.

Please note that the area will be off limits during this time for public safety. We appreciate everyone staying clear of the work zone while crews are on site.
