Thank You Port McNeill!! Your input into the Town's vision for the future has brought us to a new DRAFT Official Community Plan. Join Council on March 07, 2022 at 7:00PM at the Port McNeill Community Hall for your chance to be heard on what you think of this draft.
A digital version can be found on the Town's Website or you can pick a hard copy up from the Town Office at 1775 Furney Place, Monday to Friday, 9AM-5PM. Can't make it to the meeting? The Town will accept written submissions to be presented to Council with your feedback on the Official Community Plan.

We need to hear from you!

The Town of Port McNeill has a draft Official Community Plan (OCP) and Zoning Bylaw based on what we heard from leadership and the community during the engagement process over the last year and a half.

On September 28th, staff and Council will be outside of the IGA with a survey to discuss key topics and you can enter to win one of two iPads (draw October 5th) at the event. This will be followed up on September 29th with an Open House at the Community Hall.. The open house is an opportunity in a forum where you can review the proposed OCP and Zoning bylaw changes, ask questions, have discussion, and provide your comments.

The OCP is the long-term vision for this community regarding use of land, community facilities, infrastructure, environment, and more. The Final Draft OCP and Zoning Bylaw can be found on the Town’s Webpage: https://portmcneill.ca/. This plan will guide future growth and development in a way that meets the community’s vision:

Port McNeill will continue to provide an atmosphere of well-being. A community that encourages healthy living as is a hometown of choice for families, entrepreneurs, and innovative industry, where people wish to grow and retire. The Town provides an environment and community where people can succeed. This is nurtured through the rural lifestyle, access to nature and a sustainable environment. It is a place that fosters Individual potential and embraces new possibilities. Here we can pursue our dreams for generations to come.

Official Community Plan Survey! It has launched!!! Yes, the Town is seeking more input from YOU! We received some amazing feedback through the Interactive Map and the Work Book sessions and now we are looking for some more specific questions to be answered. Grab a cup of tea or coffee, this extremely important survey should take about 20 minutes to fill out. The online Survey is here, or if you prefer hard copy, please look in your mailbox this week or come to the Town Office to pick one up!

We want your input.

The existing OCP was adopted over 20 years ago and so much has changed in the past 2 decades. It’s now time for us to update and modernize the plan. The key issues that we are aware of are:
• Economic Development
• Downtown Revitalization
• Housing

These are the things that we know about, but we feel that you the residents know your Town the best.
We have now completed two sessions to collect information: the online map and the workbook.
We will be releasing a new survey in the next few weeks. This will be available both hardcopy and on-line.
