Port Hope Police MHEART (Mental Health Engagement and Response Team) Out and About ❤️

Along Walton Street, we took a stroll today,
Stopping to chat with folks along the way.
Sharing smiles, stories, and lending an ear,
Building connections and spreading good cheer.
The MHEART team was out in the downtown core,
Meeting community members and so much more.
Through conversation, support, and a friendly hello,
We're strengthening relationships wherever we go.
Sharing resources, building trust, and connecting along the way,
That's what MHEART was doing in Port Hope today. 💙

If we missed you this time, don't you worry or pout,
We'll catch up with you next time we're downtown and out and about!

🚸School Crossing Guard Appreciation Week 2026 🚸

This week, we proudly recognize and celebrate School Crossing Guard Appreciation Week across Ontario.
The Port Hope Police Service would like to extend a sincere thank you to all of the dedicated crossing guards throughout the Municipality of Port Hope who work tirelessly to help keep our children, families, and community members safe each day.
Whether standing at their posts in the pouring rain, blowing snow, freezing temperatures, or bright sunshine, our crossing guards are there with a smile, a wave, and a commitment to safety. Their presence provides peace of mind to parents and helps ensure students can travel to and from school safely.
Crossing guards are often among the first friendly faces children see in the morning and the last before they head home. Their dedication, reliability, and care make a positive difference in our community every single day.
Thank you for your patience, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to keeping our streets safe. Your efforts do not go unnoticed, and we are grateful for everything you do.
👏 Please join us in thanking all of our crossing guards for the important role they play in making Port Hope a safer community for everyone.

Each year on June 1, communities across Canada recognize Pride Month as an opportunity to celebrate the contributions, diversity, and resilience of 2SLGBTQI+ individuals and communities. It is also a time to reflect on the importance of fostering welcoming, inclusive, and respectful communities where everyone feels safe, valued, and able to participate fully in community life.

The Pride flag serves as a symbol of inclusion, visibility, and belonging. As we raise it today, we reaffirm our commitment to treating all residents with dignity and respect and to supporting a community where diversity is recognized as a strength.

Happy Pride Month. 🌈🏳️‍🌈

🚨 INVESTIGATION UPDATE 🚨

In November 2025, the Strathroy-Caradoc Police Service investigated a cargo theft involving more than $200,000 worth of stolen scrap copper. The incident was connected to a series of large-scale transport trailer thefts taking place across Ontario.

In April 2026, the Port Hope Police Service and Cobourg Police Service concluded “Project Rubicon,” a joint investigation involving multiple police services across Ontario. As a result of the investigation, the accused parties were collectively charged with 51 Criminal Code offences.

This investigation highlights the importance of police services working collaboratively across jurisdictions to address organized criminal activity. Through strong partnerships, information sharing, and coordinated enforcement efforts, police agencies continue working together to protect communities and businesses throughout Ontario.

The Strathroy-Caradoc Police Service would like to thank all partnering agencies involved for their dedication and cooperation throughout this investigation.
