Port Hope Area Initiative - PHAI The Port Hope Area Initiative (PHAI) -- see 'Info' or www.phai.ca for more details

The Port Hope Area Initiative (PHAI) is a community-initiated environmental remediation project that began in 2001. Its goal is the cleanup and safe, local, long-term management of low-level radioactive waste in the Port Hope area and the Port Granby waste storage facilities. The Government of Canada has assumed responsibility for the cleanup and long-term safe management of this waste.

As part of Port Hope Area Initiative activities, CNL contractors will be performing field work on the Caldwell Street Walking Trail. To safely facilitate this work, a section of the trail south of the Hope Street parking lot will be closed. Dans le cadre des activités de l'Initiative de la région de Port Hope, les entrepreneurs des LNC effectueront des travaux sur le terrain sur le sentier pédestre de la rue Caldwell. Afin de faciliter ces travaux en toute sécurité, une section du sentier au sud du stationnement de la rue Hope sera fermée. Un détour est aménagé pour accéder au reste du sentier pédestre.
